OO Buckshot

Coyote Jack

Recommended Posts

I have a Benelli M1 Field and was wondering if anyone has ever shot buckshot through the Full choke Interchangable Tube, Is it safe to shoot these heavy loads? I thought about using this for hunting fox and coyote at night. A close friend who hunts fox alot says these things will run you over at night. It's too thick to shoot a rifle where we are hunting. Any other suggestions would help also! Also would like min. pelt damage.

You should be fine with buck shot through a full choke. You might want to consider smaller buckshot like #4 or #1 for fox and coyote. They both pack enought punch out to 50 yards or so and will give you a alot more pellets. Also, pattern your gun to see which load shots best and how far you will be able to shot that load.

Thanks for the replys, I did pattern with the four chokes that came with the gun except for the "lead shot Full" choke at 30 yards and I wasn't too impressed since it has only 15 pellets per shot. I guess the next step is to try the full or go to the "t" and see what happens. The gun patterned excellant with a Hastings choke I bought for turkeys
