.243 would be an easy transition from the .308, since the .308 is the .243's pappy.

As for non-big game cartridges, I'd have to doubt it.

 

You can get highly accurate and cheaper Ar's in all of those calibers and more.

 

Browning can also help you with the .243 in many variations of the BAR.
