  1. hat would be the "best" or at the very least safest choke for the following:

    "00 Buck" and Smoothbore slugs.

I have a M1 Super 90 with a 28" and am thinking of getting a 18.5" barrel to extend the usefullness from hunting to home protection! That is where the "00 Buck" comes in.

I ask about the slug for close in deer hunting which I might consider. The last two deer hunts I literally bumped into deer at dusk with a scoped rifle and could not shoot.

I believe the 18.5" barrel comes iwith an Improved Cylinder choke.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Okay, I am about to go to the garage to do a few things including taking a whack at getting this tight. I am evry happy with my Nova and like you said, it is my only complaint as well. Thanks -

  3. Shot it today, loved it, but the rattle is starting to bug me. Any suggestions? I will open it up to clean and inspect tonight but I gathered at the range that this is "normal" for the Nova. Hmm. Normal? Despite this, it is still a great pump. I am trying to convince a friend to try one. His Ithaca auto just died and is in the market. I will post a second question on this.

Anyway - thought on tightening the Nova, with all that plastic I am not sure if torquing down on screws will be the answer, I may be wrong.

  4. I was wondering if anyone has this and can tell me how well it really works. I shoot mostly field stuff and would like to step up to heavier hitting loads. Would you say it cuts down the felt recoil 25%, a third, a half??? What would be your guess.

    Thanks

  5. I agree with rch 3030 - the Nova seems thicker/boxer and not as smooth. That said I am buying my second Nova in a month or so ( a tactical). There is just something about the 870 that seems slicker. As for your 870 always rusting on you, there are still metal parts on the Nova that can rust if you do not take care of it. Good luck!

  6. Anyone experience a FTE when shooting at odd angles, angles outside teh typical 45 to 90 degrees?

In shooting doves last year, to my surprise after shooting and working the slide, I had a shell get stuck before being fully ejected, and I did not rack too slowly or less than the full length of travel.

Weird. Just curious if anyone else had a similar experience. redface.gif Or it could just be operator failure... which it probably is.

Still love my Nova and plan on getting a tactical this year! smile.gif
