  1. My SBEII is at the factory getting looked at due to repeatedly not cycling. Worked well its first season with 250 rounds or so, then this year became very unreliable. Yes did all the cleaning etc, something changed in the gun. Will post if they figure anything out when I get it back from benelli. Good luck with yours.

  2. Thanks for the update. I just can't buy the mounting issue for my gun because I am not doing anything differently this year compared to last as far as I know. Gun will has not cycled when I wear a t-shirt to many heavy layers for goose hunting.

  3. Sounds like the problems I've been experiencing with right handed SBE II. Cycling problem started this year, worked perfectly last year. I have sent it back to Benelli so will post when I hear anything. Gunsmith who sent it in for me said I am not the only one with this problem. Good luck.

Oddly enough, this has never occurred with light target loads. Have cycled in excess of 1,000 AA's or Remington "Gun Club" target loads without a single problem. This only happens with heavier loads (of either 2 3/4" or 3").

Jam occurs in moderate air temperatures and the gun is cleaned thoroughly after each use.

Anyone experience something similar and if so, any suggestions to correct? The factory has issued a RA number, but I'm loathe to send back my shotgun with weeks to go in the current season.

  5. I have been plagued with the same problem this year with my 2 year old SBE II. Wont reliably cycle with empties hanging up in the chamber. The kicker is last year it worked perfectly! I have no idea what changed, it certainly has nothing to do with cleaning as I have tried everything. Benelli finally said send it back to them so my gun will be gone for rest of season but is all but worthless as it is. Good luck and let us know if you find a fix for this problem.

  6. Have similar problem with my SBE II but in its second season, worked great last year now often a single shot. I got ahold of benelli and they will tell you to clean it and if that does not work send it back in. You need a return # from them for service. Unfortunately that means no gun for the rest of the season. I only hope they look into the problem enough to find the cause as it does not stovepipe every time. Good luck.

I just bought my SBE II on 9/11/05 and am having some problems. It was broken in with three boxes of 3" shells. It does not cycle correctly. It will fire the first shot and then "stovepipe" the next live shell. It ejects the spent shell, gets a new one from the mag and halway ejects that one leaving it jammed in the action perpendicular to the gun. OR it will not load all the way into the action and become jammed in the action parallel with the gun in the ejection hole. AND the middle sight bead fell out, it just felll out.

The main reason i am frustrated is that i paid alot for this gun and i spent the last week in canada hunting snows, canada geese and ducks and had this happen multiple times leaving me with a single shot. It was very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced these types of problems???

also, i clean the gun every time i use it. Take out bolt, action, and disassemble the bolt if it looks really bad.

    I need help....

Wallhanger, I am reasonably mech inclined and could find a grinding wheel. What did you have in mind?
  8. Ok I thought it was the extractor but gunsmith thinks everything is up to specs. He looked it over and shot it and everything worked fine of course. Cleaned immaculately, lightly oiled and fired the next day and about every other time would not eject 3" shell from chamber. Again stuck half way out of chamber with second shell trying to come up.

Bolt is fully back and not in contact with the empty shell.

This is a new problem and did not happen last year at all. Happens primarily with Kent buy also Federal shells. Also noticed that when did cycle and shoot 3 shells the third shell would remain within the case just floating free and I would have to dump it out the ejection port? Thought the 3rd shell should fully eject from the gun?

Very frustrated as may have to send back to benelli which means not having my gun for the season.

Anybody have any idea why an SBE II would be malfunctioning in this manner? I am prety much clueless.

    Thanks alot.

  9. SBE II not fully ejecting shells, 3" and 3.5". Will come half way out of chamber then seems the extractor slips off the shell flange. Never happened last year but now most every time. Tension of extractor spring seems OK? Anyone had a similar problem. Thank you in advance. :(
