I'm wondering the same thing on the 270 WSM. I also wonder what exactly Benelli means when they say, "300wm feels like a light .270", LIGHT as in recoil or LIGHT as in gun weight meaning more recoil relative to a 7 lb 270 Win?

How solid does the barrel mount to the upper receiver? Rock solid or slight movement? What caliber is your R1 and what kind of 5 shot groups are you getting at 100 yards? Excellent pics! Thanks!
