  1. My SBE II just came in today and I already noticed that my old strap isn't going to do the job. It looks like the connecting swivels of the old strap are going to chip away the paint on the fore-end cap. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so, how did you fix it. Duck season starts in a few days and I'd hate to scratch up a brand new gun already. What types of slings do yall use that work?

I've noticed this also. The swivels that worked fine on my M1S90 don't work so well on my SBEII because of the shape of the fore end cap. I've tried several types of swivels but haven't found any that don't rub on the end cap. It's annoying but I've learned to live with it.

If you happen to find swivels that solve this issue, please let us know.

  2. Myself like the feel and fit of the SBE II...after shooting the SBE, its my all purpose hunter and a few clays now and then. Im sure either gun you choose, you will enjoy.

I also preferred the feel of the SBE II when I handled both models in the store. I also like the fact that the SBE is a proven design whereas the Vinci is relatively new.

  3. I am an embarrassed owner of an m1 super 90. This gun is a piece of junk. I wanted this gun for years, my family pitched in and got it for me for Christmas. This pile of junk will only fire high power loads. i complained to the dealer and to benelli. i sent the gun back and benelli kept it for an extended period. When i finally got it back....I was told "you have to fire 1 1/4 oz loads. This is crap. i have spent more money on ammo trying to break-in this junk shotgun the i spent on the gun itself (1400.00) Benelli keeps giving me the run around and won't let me talk to anyone higher up then thier customer service people. These 1 1/4 oz load are so heavy ....you can fire 5-6 rounds then you have to put the shotgun down because it hurts so much......anyone else with the same problem?????

You paid $1400 for an M1S90? Wow! You do know that Benelli hasn't produced this gun since 2004 right? How do you explain that? Your post sounds very troll-like to me.

  4. I'm a bit curious about why one wants to install a limbsaver on an SBE II in the first place. I use my SBE II for both 3" and 3 1/2" loads with no problem. A few years ago I did install a limbsaver on my Nova and I'm glad I did. I must say though that the limbsaver installation instructions were not clear and I had to deal with alignment problems to get a good fit. Never-the-less, once installed (at least for the Nova), the limbsaver is a great product.

Why? Because for me, with 3" turkey loads, the Benelli Comfortech pad doesn't soak up recoil nearly as well as the Limbsaver pad does, so why not use it? I installed the 10401 by the way.

  5. Based on the very strong recommendation of a friend and what I've read on forums I bought an Indian Creek choke. They produce very tight patterns with Hevi-13 6 and I don't think you would be disappointed. Pure Gold is another one that seems to be highly recommended by those who have one as well as the Primos Jelly Head.

Lot's of good information at Old Gobbler forums.

  6. I had a Limbsaver pad on my M1 and it made a difference. I just put one on my SBE II and expect the same improvement. For me, the comfortech system doesn't seem like it helps much.

  7. I had to modify the swivels on the SBE, because I didn't like the angle that the forearm swivel was on. I took one from one of my other slings that I did not use, and it was fine. The sling itself is what you want. You may have to play with the swivels to get what you like. No big deal..Mike

    Mike,

How did you change the swivel? I didn't think they were removeable?
