The lower limit for the trigger pull, is the energy the trigger needs, when You release the trigger after a shot, here the trigger has to move from the lock that catches the hammer after a shot (where the trigger is still pulled back), and move it over to the lock that releases the hammer when You pull the trigger again.

Can a competent gunsmith reduce the trigger pull to 3.5 pounds, or does it depend on the trigger?
i.e. do I need to hand pick an R1 from the store that has the lowest pull on the rack and hope it can be adjusted even lower?
I am afraid of buying one with 6lb pull and only being able to reduce it to 5lb by a gunsmith.
Is there a limit to trigger adjustability

How did you adjust the springs? Did you get a stronger spring? I plan to buy a 30.06 this week and will most likely need a trigger job, based on responses here.
