  1. Any authorized Benelli dealer can order one for you. Make sure you specify the full length spring as the part number is different than the standard 11707 spring.

You should be fine with both, you will be fine with the factory full length spring. Different part numbers and different lengths are offered for a reason.

What's the difference between the factory standard 4+1 spring and one for the full length tube? Length? Spring tension? And what are the corresponding part numbers? Thx.

  2. About a week ago, I saw one at Turner's (www.turners.com) in San Marcos, CA:

    San Marcos, Ca. 92069

    760-741-1570

I think the price was in the $1,500 neighborhood.

  3. Whoa! Glad you're okay and real glad you didn't have to use the XD! I think it's normal to be scared $#!+le$$ when suddenly confronting the unexpected, but fortunately, you had presence of mind to diffuse the situation quick enough to leave you an out. Good job! And next time? Go to Starbucks. ;)

  4. I'd start with the basics: field strip it, wipe it down, relube it (including the inside of the magazine) and reassemble it.

When did the problem start? After the mag. extension was installed? After a change of ammo?

  5. Where can I buy a heat gun?? Home Depot?

Also once I install my extension tube, I might just use loctite blue on the threads, since it isnt as permanent as the red one... what do you guys think??

I used a propane torch...took about 1 -2- minutes and two people. One to torch, the other to twist off the tube.

I completely stripped the gun down to the stock, receiver, and mag tube. Turned the torch down to a minimal setting, sprayed it through the hole in which the barrel resides and sprayed the receiver section where the mag. tube threads in. Quick and dirty...and no damage to the gun.

I did notice that when I removed the stock spring, retaining clip and follower, they were oily. Based upon that, I'd recommend lightly re-lubing the inside of the new mag. tube prior to reassembly. Mine will be thoroughly cleaned and treated with Militec-1 prior to installation.

Has anyone compared the stock spring to the one included with Dave's tubes? Same size? Same compression rate? I ordered my tube from Joe because I have a Camo M4 and he can match one of the colors, but I know he uses the stock spring assembly. I guess I'm just curious why Dave would include a different one when the stock one supposedly works. Also, does Benelli use a different spring for their factory +2 tubes?

P.S. I'll be using blue Loctite as well,

  6. [quote=GunSmoke16610;86159]I would like to shoot slugs out of my m4 do I need to change the choke to do so?

    Thanks!

You might also check Brenneke at "www dot brennekeusa dot com". They have a guide for choked-barrel compatible slugs here:

Sorry for the "dot," but I have yet to meet the posting number requirement (5) to post links. :(

  7. Suhweeet!

Does SOCOMguy (Joe?) still mak'em?...and what's the best way to contact him? Also, is the installation a breeze, or am I in for a job? Any posts or threads that will shed light on the process?

I take delivery of the Benelli on Wed. and aside from the mag. mod., I'm contemplating some Meprolight sight inserts. BTW, I'm just down the freeway from you in San Diego. The camo color...it must be a SoCal thang. :)

    Thanks for your help.
