  1. A couple of things you can do. 1. Buy a cheap 3/8" drive socket that barely fits inside the tube, but with some play. Sand the chrome finish off the socket and leave the bare metal surface as rough as possible. Clean and degrease the inside of the choke tube and rough it up with coarse sandpaper as well. Using a quality epoxy like Brownells Acraglass or Brownells Steel Bed, affix the socket inside the tube and let it cure for at least 48 hours. Once cured, insert a 3/8" drive into the socket and give it a twist. You may want to chuck the barrel in a protected vise to gain more leverage. Don't squeeze the barrel. Simply clamp it down at the magazine tube ring to prevent it from twisting. 2. Locate a machine shop in your area that has good equipment and skilled personnel. Take another tube with you for reference and ask them to cut the stuck tube down to with a few thousandths and chip it out for you. I share an office with such a machine shop, and those guys could make short work of the project.
Try this at your own risk
  2. Gap as in open space or they dont quite have the same diameter? If the "skirt" of the choke tube is the end of the choke facing the receiver, action etc then yes there is a visible gap where the inside of the choke "skirt" is opened up wider than the barrel to insure the wad does not hang on anything.

  3. The super sport is easy to maintain cleaning is easy and it doesnt have to be cleaned near as often as other semi autos. I have never seen one jam and i have seen thousands of rounds go through them because two people on my trap squad shoot them. They are very nice guns.

  4. I recently purchased a Benelli Supernova 12ga. and have been very pleased with its performance so far. The only thing that I'm not entirely sure that I like about it is the red bead on the barrel. I have a replacement that I think should work nicely, but before I tear into my new gun, I want to make sure that the front bead unscrews like any other shotgun. It is a non-rifled 26 inch matte black vented, ribbed barrel. Any help would be appreciated.

Congratulations on the new gun! yes the bead will unscrew normally but its very easy to break so if you want to keep it be very gentle.

  5. A 2005 Benelli Super Black Eagle does it have comfort tech if it has steady grip? What is its value? What camo did they come in?

No it does not have comfortech with the steady grip stock if its a SBE2 than the camo pattern is probably realtree APG, if its a SBE1 it is probably advantage timber.

  6. I currenty own a 28" SBEII and I am in the market for a 24" SBE II, 21" M2, or 24" M2

My biggest question is what is the major difference besides the 3.5 shooting ability.

The gun will be used primary for turkey hunting...

What chokes are shooting turkey loads good in the SBEII and M2 with what shoot? I am more interested in the Winchester Xtended Range.

If I buy a SBEII can not get 21" gun if I look at 24" I have option of shooting 3 or 3.5 and more options for loads and performance.

How does the M2 21" perform with good choke and turkey loads...the real short barrel scares me a little as it may be a little harder to get "just right"...

How is POA and POI with these guns with after market chokes and how are the Benelli chokes in comparison to the after market ones like Kicks, Indian Creek..etc.

Know it is a long first post but looking forward to some good replies.

The SBE is easier to clean because of the 2 piece receiver, the SBE has a bigger more roomier trigger guard, and thats about it.

  7. Thanks for the reply i have tried all of that.. I don't know what i'm going to do.. I have a email in to benelli to see if they have replaced that part with a new one but haven't heard back yet. Any iformation will help. Thanks

FYI I dont think you will have much luck emailing benelli they will not respond its best to call them.

  8. Thanks for the link to ableammo ....Only problem is the big red lettering at the bottom of the page for the barrels says they are shipped directly from the benelli factory to them and once they have them they will email you = not in stock but you can pay us now and wait till we get our hands on one....AND....They want $310 for the 18.5" barrel

..for another $100 i can just buy a new benelli tactical shotgun from them..or for the same price of the barrel i can go with a new remington 870 with an 18" and be able to take advantage of of all the aftermarket the accessories that are available andalways in stock for that model.

Really i would love to just get the barell from benelli for areasonable price that is in context with the total cost of the supernova shotgun itself. :p

Yep that's basically what novaking said.

  9. I am thinking of purchasing a Franchi 2002 O/U. Any thoughts from anyone out there. I can get it for a good price and it looks well taken care of. I am looking for a reasonable gun to actually use and not to sit and look pretty.

I have a friend with a Franchi O/U and I am not sure if its the same model as you are talking about but it seems to kick a lot harder than it should. Regardless it's a nice shotgun I think you will like it. Put a limbsaver recoil pad on it and your shoulder should be good.

  10. You should be able to tell if it is closed or not, close it slowly and you can tell it is not closed all the way. You should be able to load it as quiet as an 870.

  11. Exactly what I bought my youngest son. Notice what Marlin has done...; they copied the Savage barrel and accutrigger, Remington bolt with Weatherby relief. I don't know how they did it but the gun shoots great. Congrats!

Thanks to you and hookster, I would not say they "copied" accutrigger but it does the same thing, but works more like a glock. Your son got lucky with this gun to. It feels a little weird complementing another brand but sorry benelli I can't afford an R1 :)

  12. I know it is a little late to talk about Christmas but I forgot to show you all my new toy. Well here she is:

    marlinxs7c1-1.jpg

It is a Marlin XS7C in 308 with a Bushnell Trophy 3-9X40. I can't believe how good this thing looks and shoots for $320. Anybody else get guns?

  13. I love my 20 gauge nova. One of the best guns in the cabinet.

Of course its one of your best guns its a benelli and you cant beat a benelli. My M2 is defiantly my best shotgun and the most expensive gun out of many.

  14. Active moderation? Are we on the same benelli forum? Haha, I can count on my one hand the number of times (outside of spam crap) that the moderators have had to step in. Thats the good news, I think this forum somehow self-moderates most of the time...the benellis have a mellowing effect...:p

    Much agreed.

  15. And what??? You can shoot 3 1/2 with a nova.

Exactly, the regular nova and the super nova will both shoot 3.5" shells in 12 ga. The nova is available in 20 ga which has a 3" chamber.

  16. My M2 12ga cycles great. I hope I am right when I assume you were playing with it unloaded. If so then there is a small silver lever on the right side (if its a right handed gun) of the trigger guard that will lock the bolt back when pushed and the gun being unloaded. Push the bolt release and the bolt should close.

  17. Don't buy the super nova for the comfortech the rubber used on the super nova is rock hard. On the M2 how ever it is nice and soft. The only advantage to the super nova I can see is the shim kit and the roomier trigger guard. The super nova also looks a little better. I can't say if its worth the extra money because that's an opinion and mine is that it's not.

  18. I too noticed a handful of members that just plain treated me with no respect on SGW but that is not the reason I don't like SGW anymore. There is just something about it that I didn't like but I love this forum. Tucker said it right there is some good info there and the filters don't work.

  19. Recently purchased M-2. Love the way that the gun feels. Been using a "Patternmaster-extended range" choke tube and killing birds at ranges that amaze me. Why is the full choke tube that came with the new M-2 marked "not for steel shot"? Surely it is not the constriction. REDNECKDUCKMAN

Congrats on the new M2 I have had nothing but good things to say about mine. A full choke not made for steel shot will most likely expand and the choke will be stuck in the barrel. I don't fully understand why this is but I am guessing it has something to do with the fact that steel patterns a choke size tighter than lead. Hope this helps.
