The only thing easier is a double barrel shotgun and only show-offs and rich people use those :-(

Lol, I'll bet the rich use them for peasant hunting.

 

Anyway, thanks millions for the feedback sofar, but I have more questions.

OK, I only have one button on the gun aside from the safety. The disassembly book references the button and inside part as the " carrier latch"

On this is where the Benelli button would attach.

And I loaded the magazine and racked the bolt and the button won't move, just held tight against the end of the shell, making it near impossible to even unload.

So I guess it's broken/bent, or weak spring.

Now the first gunsmith said parts are not to be found, and the second was an outfitter, elite, called and said Benelli said "we won't look at it or work on it, don't send it in, and don't call about it again" Whats up with that?

The third guy in a city, said he knew them well and could fix most anything, but was excited because he has "offshore buyers" for it.

(kinda scared me)

 

So if I load it , put a shell in the chamber, and the safety on, I at least have a gun and not just a stick in my hands.

 

So before I consider this city guy, do you have any more feedback?

Well that cartridge drop lever, button? doesn't help me load it. It just holds shells in the mag, period. And evidently many other people have the same situation. 2 gunsmiths couldn't get it to work, so for a year it sat until yesterday when I tried this method and, I had my baby back. If you have any info, please share. Granted, it does seem odd.

The chamber CAN be loaded first, then the mag tube, or vice versa. What is odd about the gun is that the cycling of the bolt, whether the magazine tube is full, half full or empty, it does not load a round from the mag tube simply by cycling the bolt handle. I am not sure why Benelli designed them this way, unless it is as I mentioned, a "safety" item against unauthorized use. But you have to literally manually load a round in the chamber, and then upon firing, the thing feeds from the mag tube. You can top off the magazine anytime you would like.

[Sabots and 121 M1]

Hi all.

Still unable to find any literature on the 121 operation, I thought I'd ask here about Sabot/Rifled Slugs.

Reading in the forum i came across talk of chokes, and wondered if the 121 M1 has a choke?

I have some "rifled slugs" from Federal, (whats the difference between slugs and sabot rounds?), and haven't tried them out yet. Assuming chokes and slugs don't work together, will these work in the Benny?

Since I'm new, I'm not allowed to post any pictures, so I'll put it in my Benelli profile album.

Any info, or links about this would be appreciated.
