  1. Have you moved the bolt release out of the way? I slide in the rear of the trigger group up by the stock. Swing(rotate) the trigger group upward until the carrier contacts the bolt release. Then you need to press in on bolt release to get it out of the way for the carrier to fit inside receiver.

(**NOT** Being a smart ass!!)) 1) breath! 2) slow down 3) look at how it all works. 4) as much as it pains us guys sometimes, read directions.

    Best of luck!

  2. Shoot it more and it'll fill with carbon, then 1) you'll never notice it that much 2) You're having more fun than staring at that scratch (what scratch?) 3) You'll be practicing vs asking questions on the internet! :)

Nah, I know it'd bug me too, but you didn't hurt anything by looks of it! Enjoy the M4!

  3. For your consideration I have a Mesa Tactical 6-shell holder for 12ga that fits the Benelli M4.

    $65 obo -shipped to CONUS

This is in good condition, no dings or gouges. If you have questions, let me know. I'll try to check my message in a.m. and p.m.

    thanks for looking.

  4. Being an intro shotty, I agree with Montefeltro. Could also go M2. I really like the Cordoba and Supersport, but those are big $$ that would be better served with practice and ammo.

I believe the Monte and M2 have youth-stocked models. I would STRONGLY recommend at least shouldering the shottys at a store to shee what she is more comfortable with. I believe that youth models only come with 24" barrel though?? (memory here, so forgive me if I'm wrong.) 26 or more would be nicer for trap to be sure.

Best of luck! It is an awesome sport(shotgunning in general.)

  5. I recently purchased a supersport because I got a great deal on it and I love it. You can't go wrong with either one. The comfortech stock is the only real difference. I'm with you on the looks too, the legacy is a beauty.

    ^^+1

I have a SuperSport and I absolutely love it. I liked he techie look of it, and that it's kind of like my sport-bike, but in a shotty. I have a hard time choosing if I take the O/U or the SS to skeet shooting. (sigh!) :D

  6. make sure the "link" or the rear extension of the bolt-group, is secured into the receiver extension(recoil tube) and that when you're pulling back on the bolt-group, it has the ability to move rearward.

LOCK the bolt to the rear and then carefully replace barrel. sometimes you jar the receiver abrutly the bolt comes flying forward.

insert barrel full, fasten down with cap at magazine tube end, voila, you're done!

    Hope it helps!

  7. You speak of "invisible" for your next paint/finish on the M4.

Here's a thread from another forum for some "invisible" ideas.

Here's one of some Krylon jobs. Granted, some people took extra time & effort, but if you're not made of money, it IS an option.

As for your wife getting upset. .. I don't know her at all. My wife, . . . she's gotten me some kick-ass stuff in the past. I explain to her why I want to trade/adjust/modify something, and she's cool with it. I'm hoping yours will understand as well.

Best of luck. Post pics when you're done though! :)

  8. If you're thinking pretty seriously about having it re-done, and you say the tan kind of "glows-in-the-dark" then I'd consider trying an inexpensive first route. . . . KRYLON paint.

Make sure you degrease the shotty first, then spray some areas over the tan to darken it a bit.

Worst case scenario, it's just paint that'll get take off at a coater of your choice later(Cerakote, Duracoat, hydro-dipping, etc.)

IF you like it. . WO HOOO, better than the savings of switching to Geico!!

There was a guy that posted on here about 3-4months ago that had done some kick-ass coatings on many kinds of firearms, but forget his name. . . dangit!!

Anyway, my $.01 worth for ya!

  9. Hello to all . Newbie here .

    **Welcome to the board!

I was told the collapsible stock will not work on the m1014 , is this correct ?

**This I don't have an answer I feel 100% about, sorry!

I was told I can buy the m11707 and the stock will work with this gun , is this correct ?

**Yes, the C-stock will work on this model. I have one on mine.

If in fact I can buy the m11707 and the stock will work can I have my dealer order it with the full stock and pistol grip and then remove it and bolt on the collapsible stock ?

**I believe the 11707 only comes with the pistol grip stock, but that is the only way I have seen them. Other than LE/Military with C-stocks.

In the end result I would love to have the M4 with factory night sites long mag tube and collapsible stock ( I already have the mag tube extension and the collapsible stock) . Then I would like to go from there with mods .

**Long mag tube will have to be something you do in the aftermarket world. Many people here(myself included) tend to favor the carriercomp mag tubes. C-stock, I believe it's Heckler&Koch2000 that sells them here frequently for good prices.

Any and all ifo would be awesome because I want to do this ASAP .

**I really don't mean to come across as a dick, but the "SEARCH" function works pretty decent on this forum. Just sayin'. ;)

    Thank You

    you're welcome!

  10. this might sound stupid but:o

what parts are different brtween the super sport and the performance shop super sport??

looks like the same parts only in red!!

If memory serves, what is added is red bolt release, different charging handle, weighted screw cap on the end of mag tube and seems like something else, but don't recall what.

I could see adding a weighted end on mine for shooting skeet. LOVE my supersport!!!!

    Regards!

  11. What is the real difference between the M2 and the M4?

    About $400. ;)

In short The M4 is a gas operated system, the M2 has an inertia operating system. What does that mean?

The M4 can shoot almost any load(within reason) no matter how powerful or not the load is. AND, the M4 can be loaded up to the mall ninja extent, and it won't effect how it operates. (continue reading to understand.)

The M2 is an inertia system. If one hangs too much stuff on an M2, the gun obviously weighs more and the slower it will recoil. The M2 has springs inside the bolt that operate at at a certain rate of recoil. IF the gun is too heavy, it can malfunction. So, people that are going to install optics, side saddles, weapon lights, quad rails, etc. generally don't do that to an M2.

Here is my M4 with a "few" accessories. Hey guys. . correct me if I'm wrong, please, I'm not too big for that, but if one did this to an M2, it may malfunction because of the weight?

    BenLeft.jpg

With the M2, you can put a magazine tube on it to increase capacity to 7+1 vs the factory 5+1.

The idea one gave of getting a comfort-tech stock on a 26" barrel model isn't a bad idea either! That way it would be tactical-ish black, useful for sporting games, still comfy to shoot and still lots of (pardon the pun) BANG for the buck!

If you post your lcity/state, someone here may be able to direct you to a friendly and helpful gun store, unless you already have that.

    Best of luck!!

  12. I might also add to not treat the trigger like a precision rifle/pistol trigger! I had so many years in target shooting where I would S_L_O_W_L_Y squeeze the trigger. Do NOT do this when shooting trap/skeep/Sport Clay!!!!

As horrible as it sounds, slap the trigger, AS you follow through. The follow-through swing has been explained well, so i won't bother confusing you there.

Now here, is just *MY* way of coming up to the birds/clays. I call "pull", clay released, I chase the path of the clay with end of my barrel as described in above posts, I chase, then juuuuuuuust as my muzzle is where the clay WILL be, I squeeze the trigger and follow-through, and hopefully have a rewarding *POOF* of clay dust mid-air.

I know your pain, all too well!! First couple years I went out, and I'd be lucky to hit 10 of 25 clays!!

As you stated, the M4 isn't meant for this, but it CAN be done. I've shot a round of skeet with my M4 just for grins at my local club. People mock me, but then when I hit 17-19 of them, they don't laugh at me as much. Then again, it's not 25/25 either! :(

Go with a friend too to see if they can tell you if you're behind the clay, ahead, not following-through, etc. Best of luck!!!

  13. G.G.F.,

WOW. . . what an appropriate name!! Got a sister!? ;) Sorry, ya had to see that coming! And a B/F- G/F nonetheless. Ahhh, I remember when my wife(then G/F, used to do things like that for me!) Anyway, on to business. . .

At the $1500 mark you're very close to a Benelli M4. If your B/F is going to hang many accessories off of it and make it mall-ninja like ( mine is, I don't care, it's just plain fun!) then the M4 would be good.

However, if he just wants to throw 12gauge rounds down range to blow up water jugs, let out some pent-up aggression from a stressful day at work, show a cool gun to his friends (giving you FULL credit of course for the coolness!) then the Benelli M2 will serve him very VERY well.

    M4 - $1450 - $1650, depending on where.

    M2 - depends on grip/stock configuration, $1050 - $1250

I'm guessing you've gone to the benelli website to see the models?

    http://www.benelliusa.com/

    The M2 tactical link here:

    and the M4 link here:

I like the camo paint but own black. It's much easier to match one color than multiple in the event of chips/dings/scratches. Just my $0.02 though.

Given your price point, I would lean towards the M2, and any "extra" money used towards a carrying case, some ammo and maybe a range membership. Either one will *NOT* let you down!!

The way these absorb recoil, you'll have fun shooting it too. There's something about shooting shotguns that just brings out the grins and giggles in a grown man, and a evil-sinister-smirk in many woman! :p

Best of luck, keep us posted on the progress!! Especially photos!

  14. I was under the impression that D.C. charging handles are no longer. If you find one BUY IT! If memory serves I looked for one also to no avail.

My recommendation though would be to await Kip's charging handle and its release date.

BUT. . . you'll have to wait in line behind all of us! :D

    regards!

  15. As others have stated, get what fits your hand. All are popular enough you may just find someone at a range near you that you can run a magazine through. Perhaps you even have the option to go to a gunstore/range that rents?

I personally am partial to Glock. Does that mean it's the best gun? NO! To me, it is. Do S&W, Springfield, Sig, H&K make good guns? YOU BET!!!

Go with fit. Kinda like buying a pair of boots. Does Red Wing make a way better boot than Danner or vice versa? not really, but which fits your feet better?

I like most everything about the M&P BUT the trigger. I don't like the reset of the trigger as I think it feels really numb and dull. Ergos, equipment, options, sights - I like on the M&P.

    Good luck!!
