I'm a bit curious about why one wants to install a limbsaver on an SBE II in the first place. I use my SBE II for both 3" and 3 1/2" loads with no problem. A few years ago I did install a limbsaver on my Nova and I'm glad I did. I must say though that the limbsaver installation instructions were not clear and I had to deal with alignment problems to get a good fit. Never-the-less, once installed (at least for the Nova), the limbsaver is a great product.

Im thinking 3.5" shells. Ummm slug rounds? Would they be a better choice than OO buck shots? I've seen sabot slug but it says on the manual those arent recommended, what other slugs would work?
I've never tried sabot/slugs through my Nova. I did learn that there's quite a bit of kick with 3 1/2" shells (Kent Fasteel BB 1625 fps). I installed a limbsaver recoil pad that really took care of the kick issue.

...This coming winter I plan on hunting some hog out on my ranch. There's these wild hog I've been wanting to drop with my shotgun. I know its possible but would it be a good choice (just change it up) and hunt some hog with my nova maybe using some double ot buckt shot00?
Are you thinking 3" or 3.5" shells? Also, how about slug rounds?

You might also call Benelli and let them know as I'm sure you aren't the only one to experience this.
I wonder if the Benelli folks ever bother to read these threads.

I tried posting this question in another thread regarding recoil pads, but didn't get any response...
At the end of this year's water fowl season while cleaning my two year old SBE II, the recoil pad seem to come off too easily. Upon closer look, the plastic insert from inside the stock had come loose and was still attached to the recoil pad (make sense?). I separated the plastic piece from the recoil pad and super glued it back inside the stock. After letting the glue set for a day I reinstalled the recoil pad. Since then, I've put a hundred or so rounds through the gun at the range with no problems, but I'm concerned about the upcoming season. I don't want the thing coming apart on me. Any ideas or suggestions?

This is true. Also, it takes a bit of rigging to make the Sims pad work/fit, but once it's properly in place it makes your Nova shooting 3 1/2" loads bearable.
