  1. Maybe I do not understand it. I thought 25% was a bit much, but it said it, and I went and verified it at the source. I normally don't use tq values, though, and do not profess to be a professional mechanic of mechanical things.

No biggie. That page is confusing.

  2. I think you may have misunderstood the page you quoted. Or you have not explained to me what it is you are implying.

Torque wrenches are typically accurate at about 3 to 5 percent of indicated value. Again if your torque wrench is 25%, throw it in the trash can. Goto ANY torque mfg website and have a look at the specs.

    http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=hand&item_ID=640960&group_ID=675227&store=&dir=catalog

This is a QD series (pretty average) and is accurate to 4% clockwise and 6% counter clockwise.

  3. A torque wrench is -+25% torque sensitivity. I wonder if screwdrivers are better? An experienced machinist manages -+30-35%.

What does that mean? Are you talking about actual accuracy? If your torque wrench is +- 25% you better throw it in the trash can. Typical accuracy 3 to 5 percent of indicated value.

  4. Go sell it on a site dedicated to Saigas. You will get a much better Idea what it is or isn't worth.

Then you can come back here with extra cash and buy a used one that someone is selling. YMMV FWIW

  5. Heck, I believe in Texas they offer subsidies and tax breaks for anything that goes bang! I truly need to move there.... Where's a good place to land in Texas H&K? I've been looking at doing that for some time now. I would like to hope the heat there is a little drier than here in Florida. I know there are great places to live there and not so great. Who better to ask than a Texan.

As far as Texas and gun laws go, its just middle of the road. Nothing spectacular. Humidity is pathetically high and hot in the south part, up to and including dallas. Pick another state IMO.

    Dallas sucks

    Houston sucks

    San Antonio slightly less sucks

El Paso top of the **** pile sucks

Pick a small town if you have to live there.

  6. Well I kinda figured as we approach the seventh month mark of 2011 that they were available. Any idea what the other items might be?

So from carrier comp the current count is three? The reason I am asking is I would prefer the quality of carrier comp products vs some other mfg / vendor. I already have items 1,2,3 and 4 listed above. I was just trying to piece together my options either now or in the near future.

I am still confused about the 922r compliance muzzle brake. Thats obviously not an item that was on the gun in import form, so is it just a way to attach a brake thats not imported once you put a full tube or c-stock on?

  7. One more thing. I cant figure this one out either.

    Carrier Comps FAQ says

    These 5 new offerings when legally installed, will allow for BOTH of the following to be present without 922® infringement;

A fully-functional import (factory) collapsible stock.

A full length magazine tube of import (factory) or domestic origin.

I cant find 5 parts. What are they? I seem to be missing 2 parts on carrier comps site. Is that muzzle brake one of them?

    1. Mag tube

    2. Follower

    3. Hammer

From else where (other than kips)

    4. Hand guards

  8. FFT grips ,Kip follower ,Kip hammer for the bottom two configurations, the top configuration I have a DMW full magazine tube ,which is not installed on this picture I'm waiting for the trigger part from kip to run the factory Benelli magazine.

Yeah, Thats the way I was doing it but it seems alot of people use the C-Stock way before that hammer was available. How was that done?

Whats the advantage with the factory magazine?

    Thanks
