  1. I have a M1014 & a 1301, both built out differently. The 1301(no pistol grip) I left in almost a stock configuration because it feels significantly lighter than the M4 and I wanted to keep it that way. I only added a light, estacc cards, replaced the terrible polymer barrel clamp & added a pro lifter(before mod 2 came out). You do feel the weight difference in increased recoil when shooting but it’s not enough for me to care. The “Blink” system is faster in the 1301 but for the speed you would need to shoot and outrun either system it isn’t practical in a real world situations in my opinion.

My M4 is fully kitted out, it was already heavier in stock configuration but you for sure feel it after. There’s still a feeling to knowing you have an M4 that the 1301 doesn’t give and can’t. History matters and that connection to the military and proven track record gives it something that cant be bought no matter what you spend and change on a 1301.

if I could only choose or suggest one…idk. Depends on the situation and the need of the buyer. The 1301 can be had and fully built out for significantly cheaper than a M4, and comes more ready off the shelf. But I still tell people gun to my head or end of the world I will run out of the house with my M4 due to its military track record and reliability.

(A300 is great gun for the price if someone doesn’t want to go top shelf.)

Doesn’t this stock attach like a standard M4? Screws onto the receiver?

Yes, but the bolt provided with the set is slightly off from the M4 thread pattern. The set is made for and by Panzer for their clone.

The screw and possibly a little fitting on the hand guards and it will work perfectly on your M4.

For the M4 trigger housing tools I would add a decent pair of snap ring pliers with the proper size tips to remove and install the rather stout snap ring that retains the hammer pin in an M4 housing. Looks like the M2 housing that is being swapped in the video only has a c-clip and not a tough snap ring that the M4 has for retaining that pin.

Also add a plastic bench block such as the guy in the video is using which makes the job easier.

As for whether to choose the OEM aluminum or the A&S, it's up to you but the A&S is a much nicer, finely finished smooth piece than the often roughly cast looking OEM aluminum housing.

One other tip; if you're thinking that you're going to "upgrade" your OEM housing guts with some aftermarket "better" parts, my advice is to be careful where you get them from. There are several posts on this forum about a certain suppliers aftermarket trigger housing parts that don't fit well, and need some filing, adjusting or tweaking of some sort to make them work. My advice is to just use all the OEM guts from the existing housing unless you can resurrect a Geissele hammer.

My two M1014 have the same style clip as in the video. Used a knife to take it off and my fingers to put it back on.

It for sure is the most annoying part of the whole swap though.

  4. More depends if you want to keep it oem, need the feed ramp, or care about 922r. They are both quality products.

As far as tools all you really need is a punch set. I did it for a friend two weeks ago & it’s not hard at all. I added a few Taran Tactical parts in the process including the extended carrier.

  6. JustBC posted the correct one.

If you ordered an aftermarket 7 shell tube a lot of them ship with a new spring. Might want to check before you order separately.

Thanks for all the responses.  I havent placed an order yet but just wanted to ask some questions. Can anyone tell me which color tube from carrier comp most closely resembles OEM?  Is it dark grey?

Yes that is correct. Description from their website:

This finish selection “DG” (* OEM Parkerized tone *) represents a careful blend of hues that will match your black Benelli parkerized barrel even BETTER than the factory 5 round tube it replaces!!

Also, their lead time is 4-5 weeks currently.

  8. Family operated small business. They will reach out to you for payment as they get closer to your order.

They usually have their lead time posted on their website. Last I checked I think it was 4-6 weeks. It’s worth the wait…

The reviews of the GG&G rail mount are accurate, it does have some play once installed.  It also bends easliy which is why I traded up to the IWC mount, didn't realize they stopped making them.

If you're looking for a simple setup, there's the CDM ROC-12S that may work for you.  It's a clamp mount that uses a pic rail one side and a QD sling mount on the other.  I had one on my 870 for awhile until I switched to the magpul forend.  The only down side is it eliminates tool-less takedown of the M4, which is why I never used it on mine.  You can get one for about $40 on amazon.

Just out of curiosity, what happened with IWC?

Earl their CEO died a while ago and the company hasn’t gone back to standard operations since. Unclear still if and when they will.

I wouldn't use the handguard. I would only use the stock personally.

Makes sense, I kind of like the full look.

I use other US-made parts to hit my number, so this isn’t a consideration for me.

Same for me but I just know most people choose that as a cheap option. I guess most of us why would appreciate it would meet requirements other ways.

This looks very similar to SideArmor carriers. They were extremely heavy and covered in sharp edges. Why they didn’t round over all the hard edges, I’ll never know. You’re adding a lot of weight and thickness to the receiver. Carrying the extra weight isn’t a big deal, the issue is how much you’re slowing the shotgun down as you add extra weight. It’s easy to swing past a target due to the extra mass. Shotguns should be super easy to point and swing from target to target.

While it is nice having rounds with the shotgun, you’re better served having the shells on your body and not hung on the shotgun. An arrangement of speed feed pouches on a belt load the shotgun significantly faster than cherry picking rounds one at a time from a side saddle of some sort. Amateurs can easily grab two shells at a time and feed them in. Pro users and fit 3 and 4 at a time depending on hand size.

Most want something available for the bump in the night situation where you don’t have time to suit up like the Commando meme. Where you’re lucky to have shoes and pants let alone belt pouches. For this, I sling a bandolier around the shotgun wherever it’s staged. One bandolier can hold like 55 rounds maxed out and is easy to sling over your shoulder before you engage the skinwalker.

Same as sidearmor, they sold the design to this company or something along those lines.
