rifled barrel - newb question

Don't beat on a newbie too hard

Recently, a practically new Benelli Nova 12g shotgun with 24' barrel was given to me, so the question is how can I tell if it has rifled barrel or not?

Look down the barrel (when the gun is unloaded and with the action open (bolt back))... if you see a spiral, those are your riflings. No spirals... smooth barrel.
