Jubal Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Howdy All Recently purchased a Super Sport. The owners manual requires that a Benelli Cleaning kit is to be used. Does this kit preserve the integrity of the chrome lined barrel ? I have been unable to find this kit on the Benelli web site nor has my dealer found reference to this kit . Your response is appreciated, Jubal Quote
threeshot Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 Jubal, You do not need the Benelli Cleaning Kit, which is just a two-piece cleaning rod, bore mop, bore brushes and oil. Just use good quality oil. The following posting may help you. http://www.benelliusa.com/forums/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/874.html#000001 Regards threeshot Quote
sleepydoc Posted October 15, 2004 Posted October 15, 2004 This same comment comes with all benelli's. In europe , benelli provides a cleaning kit when you purchase a gun but not in NA. Just use a regular kit but may I suggest use a good oil and a coated cleaning rod. Quote
Jubal Posted October 16, 2004 Author Posted October 16, 2004 Howdy All Thanks for the info. The owners manual instructions does not provide good info for cleaning and lubricating. The Benelli barrel must have a smaller inside diameter than the Rem 870, Win x2, and Browning Citori that I also shoot. I cannot push a 3" patch down the barrel with the Clean Bore aluminum jag that I usually use. I was also concerned about damaging the chrome lined barrel with a bronze brush. I must say that this the easiest shotgun to brakedown and clean that I have experienced and shoulders and points better then the others aforementioned. Regards, Jubal Quote

Sitra Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 I am in the same boat. I also can not find the chamber lock Benelli advertises. Also Benelli does not respond to requests for catalogs. If you find out anything, please let me know. Thanks. Quote
