Nove Police model add on help needed

I have purchased the Nova Police 18.5 inch barrel shotty. I bought the 2 shell mag extension form benelli and the 14 oz mercury recoil reducer and mounting bracket. I installed the mag extender with included spring and cannot get more than 4 rounds in the tube. does the spring need to be custom fit? 2nd is the recoil reducer. the mounting bracket shipped with a rubber hose inside, does that need to be trimmed to fit inside the bracket with the mercury recoil reducer in it, or what is it's purpose?

With just the 2 shot ext. I found that the original spring can be used. As for the piece of hose. After inserting the reducer, insert the hose and cut it to length so that when you close the door on the bracket it firmly holds the reducer into place so it dosent flop back and forth.
