    Unloading

Thanks for the replies guys. I thought maybe there was a trick to it, or that I was doing something wrong. I think I'll resort to cycling the live shells out also. You'd think Benelli could design the lever mechanism a little better, or at least let you know in the manual that the lever method is a little "rough".

    Unloading

I own an SBEI 12 gauge and a Monte 20 gauge and have difficulty unloading shells from the magazine on both. I have to press the cartridge retaining lever so hard that my finger hurts, and even then I have to futz with it to get it to release shells in the mag. Does anyone else have trouble with this? The manuals show a guy simply reaching in the carrier cavity and pushing with his index finger on the lever. I have to pinch the lever against the receiver using my index finger and thumb and it still doesn't want to release the shell. What am I missing here?
  3. Mudhen: You can use a slugbarrel forend on a shotbarrel, but the shotbarrel forend won't fit on a slugbarrel because the slugbarrel is a slightly larger (beefier) barrel. The only disadvantage to using the slugbarrel forend on a shot barrel is the somewhat looser fit on the smaller diameter barrel, and brush and/or debris may get into the small gap around the smaller diameter barrel. So I am told. Thanks for your reply...Quetico How about the rest of you...can anybody else help me out here?
  4. Hi Y'all. I'd like to add a camo shot barrel (24" or 26"?) to my SBE sluggun. I know about the forend change required, and I'd like to know where I can buy a new barrel and forend cheaper than full MSRP, which is ridiculous. Anybody know of a reputable Benelli parts dealer who will sell below MSRP? One more thing: Benelli makes a 24" turkey barrel for the SBE which is drilled and tapped, but my dealer says Benelli won't ship them any more. He says they will only take orders for their standard 24" shot barrel, which is not drilled and tapped. What the heck is THAT all about? Thanks.
  5. Tacman - It should work; it's a generic-access website for posting pix. Post your e-mail here and I'll send it to you.
  6. Tacman - Yeah. It was supposed to take you there. Click on "View". The picture comes up. Voila! [ August 08, 2003, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: Quetico ]
  7. Miss Kitty - Thanks! If you ever find your way to northern Illinois, give me a holler and I'll buy you a drink at the Longbranch...sarsaparilla, of course.
  8. OK. Here's the link to the picture. With any luck it will work: http://www.hpphoto.com/servlet/com.hp.HPGuestLogin?username=postpix&password=61091218 [ August 06, 2003, 11:38 PM: Message edited by: Quetico ]
  9. Tacman - Thanks for the reply. I actually have a CQB SOP sling on my AR and like it very much; it's slicker than snot. But I'm looking for the sling mentioned above for my deer sluggun. I'm going to play with the image thing here and see if I can post the picture. Maybe someone will recognize it. In the meantime, if anybody has an '03 Benelli catalog and knows what kind of sling is pictured on p.26, I'd sure appreciate hearing from you.
  10. The Benelli 2003 catalog pictures a Nova sluggun on p. 26; the question is: Whose sling is shown, and where can I get one? It looks like it's made of a rubber-like material. I asked my Benelli rep (Illinois) and he has no clue.
