  1. I received the second barrel tonight. Upon installing, it hung up just like the first one. I decided to wiggle it a bit with some light downward pressure. This caused it to slide on in. I tried the same thing with the first barrel, and it too seated fine. In contrast, my original 18-inch barrel drops right in, with no extra effort required. Since that is what I am used to, I expected the longer barrels to behave the same way. Putting the gun back together with one of the long barrels, the action seems to be functioning fine. I am going to a shoot on Saturday, and will put a few rounds through it to confirm. I will follow up on Saturday evening with a function report. Thanks, James
  2. A bit more info...I examined things in more detail last night. I completely removed the bolt and slid the barrel in so that I could see whats going on. There is a small square part of the barrel that sticks out on the end, and fits into a U-shaped slot in the top of the receiver. My original 18-inch barrel slides right in. The long barrel appears to be slightly off-center, so the edge of the square part rests on the top of the slot. It looks like if I were to file about 1/32-1/16th off of the side of the square part it would slide on in. Has anyone else had to do this? Should I do this? Should I send it in to Benelli? I don't have a pair of calipers, so I can't get an accurate measurement of the difference between the two barrels size. Also, I have another barrel coming from a different source. Once I get it I will try it and see if it has the same issue. Thanks, James
  3. Good evening, I recently bought a 28 inch M1 barrel from a gentleman to use for my M1S90. When I tried to install the barrel, it lacks about 1/8th of an inch of seating properly in the receiver. I thought that these barrels would work on an M1S90. Any ideas? Thanks, James
  4. Thank you, sir. That was the problem, and it took about 30 seconds to fix. I knew it had to be something simple, but didn't know what. James
  5. Hi folks. Tonight has not been my night. I found a leak under my bathroom sink which has caused some wood damage, and I put my M1 back together wrong after cleaning it (too many distractions). Now I need some help figuring out how to fix it. I finsihed cleaning, and began putting it back together. I inserted the trigger assembly and put in the pin. Then I slid the bolt in, and inserted the bolt handle. Without thinking, I pulled the bolt back, and it locked into the open position. That is the problem. It is now stuck open. The button which allows it to close will not move no matter how hard I press it. Putting the barrel back in position has no effect, and the shell carrier lever doesn't work either. It seems like such a simple mistake, but I cannot figure out what is wrong. Any info or assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks, James
  6. So any M1 series barrel will work? Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know. Thanks, James
  7. Thanks, M1014, but it looks like the only barrel that they have listed with the M1 Tactical is the M1 Practical barrel. Will that one fit? Are there any others that could be used instead? Thanks, James
  8. I own an M1 Tactical, and would like to pick up a 26" or 28" barrel for hunting. What barrels will fit the Tactical? Can I use the M1 Field or SBE barrels? Thanks, James
