  1. I shoot a fair amount of skeet and trap. If that is what you are going to get into, I would not buy a pump. Your best bet is to either find a good automatic, or a over/underl. Even look at the used market for some great deals. If you are a member of a club, someone always has guns for sale. My first skeet gun was a used Browning Superposed with a tube set, so I could shoot all gauges. I bought that all for less than 2000$. Still shoot it alot, with no problem. Hope that helps.
  2. thanks, AK SBE. I did go ahead and call benelli and they asked me to send the barrel to them, but I will try the steel wool first.
  3. Thanks I will try that. I used break free after the hunt, and typically use this for all my guns, and have never had this problem with any others. What type of oil do you use for your benelli?
  4. Has anyone out there experienced a problem with rust on their barrel's exterior? I went on a dove shoot this past weekend in which it rained on us pretty good. Wiped the gun down good following and put it up. But, now I have small spots of rust all over the barrel. Is there anything that will get this off? Thanks for any info
  5. Bobcat1, I just recently bought the M2 for a field gun, but I am also an avid skeet shooter. I have put probably 400 rounds of Win. AA 1oz. loads and have not had a problem. I did have a problem with the SBE not ejecting shells. I think it had more to do with the 3.5 inch chamber, vs. the 3 inch chamber of the M2. The winchester x2 is a fine gun, but the new benelli just seems to fit and point better for me.
  6. Thanks for the quick reply! Well I went ahead and bouught the M2 with a 26 in. barrel on friday, and shot skeet with it saturday. I loved the gun. Dropped one bird in the first box and was straight in the second. And for me that is great. I did notice that my saftey was stiff, but not sure if this will loosen up with use. I have seen some talk of this by others. Does anyone know if the gun that I just bought came with the corrected saftey, or will I have to send it back to be fixed?
  7. I am looking at buying the M2 before the upcoming hunting season, and a friend of mine was telling me that the benelli magazine will hold (3) 2 3/4 shells with one in the chamber. This is with the plug in and no tube extension. Is this correct? thanks
