  1. I used to have a similar or possibly the same problem - I could only get a shell about halfway into the mag tube before the shell carrier got in the way and the shell couldn't go any further. Here's what I figured out in my situation: When the carrier plate goes up, there is a small slot that one edge of the carrier plate slides into. My carrier plate was not perfectly centred in the receiver and did not always make its way into the slot. The slot allows the carrier plate to go up about another 1/8 - 1/4 of an inch which is just enough to let the shell go the rest of the way into the mag tube. Essentially, my shell carrier plate was bottoming out pre-maturely because it did not fit into the slot in the receiver properly and this reduced the amount of clearance necessary for the shell to go into the tube. Hope this helps. Brian
  2. My Uncle Mike's sling swivels fit perfectly on my new SBE II LH. No problem whatsoever. Brian
  3. Hi All, I have a new SBE II LH that I've put about 250 shells through - half target loads and half Kent Faststeel. On three or four occasions while shooting the 2 3/4 dram target shells, the gun would not fire, but would "click". At first, I thought that it was due to the light loads, but then it happened twice while in the field using the Fasteel. In all instances, it was the first shot, and the bolt was completely in battery. After the first failure in the field, I took the gun home and stripped, cleaned and reassembled the gun and bolt assembly. I thought I had the problem licked, and then it failed to fire again. Whenever this happened, the primer showed absolutely no sign of being struck. Is it possible that the firing pin is hanging up somewhere/somehow? The duck season has only started here, and I'd hate to have to send the gun back, so I'm hoping there might be a fix that I can have done locally. Thanks in advance, Brian
  4. Hi Everyone, Just picked up my new SBE II LH today, and ducks open this weekend! Can't wait, and it's a long weekend here to boot! Anyway, the forearm stock on my gun does not want to come clear of the magazine tube. The shop that I bought it from has only sold one other SBE II and they aren't sure if the forearm actually comes off or not - even though the instructions say it does. Before I put any force on it, I thought I'd check here first to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Thanks in advance! Brian
