  1. . Yes, I also thought the price was high. I purchased my Benelli's in November. I guess the problems with pads were fixed by then because the original pads were fine. My plan is to use the original pads for warm weather sports and the shorter pad for cold weather when wearing layered clothing. It is not a great deal shorter but it does make a difference to me. .
  2. I called Benelli Customer Service to find out how I can purchase the optional ComforTech gel pad; the short pad, 14" L.O.P. that is shown on the web site. I was told I had to purchase the Benelli optional short gel pad from Mann & Son Sporting Goods in IL. Mann & Son told me it could be 6 months. The new 14" LOP ComforTech gel pads arrived a couple days ago. I was billed $70 each. So if you were looking for the shorter pad, they are now available. .
  3. . Federal Law says when you are hunting Migrating Birds, your gun must be limited to holding 3 shells. That is 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine. The orange piece of plastic you mentioned is the plug which should limit the magazine capacity to 2 shells. It should not matter which length shells you use, or combination of lengths. It is best to test it yourself. If you can put three 2-3/4" shells in the magazine, even if you are actually using longer shells, you would still be considered illegal. No more than 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine for Hunting Migrating Birds. .......Chester-TN . [ 11-25-2004, 06:30 AM: Message edited by: Chester-TN ]
  4. . Thanks DJ. Has anyone had the Link Pin break that holds the Link at the rear of the bolt ??? How about the extractor ??? .
  5. . What parts should I keep on hand for my SBE II ?? I want to put together a "field repair" kit to keep in my blind bag. Tools needed should be included. ......Chester-TN . 1) 13mm deep-well socket 2) 5/32 punch 3) Needle Nose Pliers 4) Locking head pin 5) Firing pin 6) Firing pin spring 7) 8) 9) . 6. . I get a few minutes off per day for good behavior .
  7. . Don't know if it matters but the mark is facing toward the rear on a new gun. .......Chester-TN .
  8. . You can remove the bolt handle with a 5/32" punch and very lightly tap from the other side. Only use the correct size punch and a light tap. You do not want to flatten the small end of the bolt handle. ..........Chester-TN .
  9. . I certainly hope being a Benelli owner and participating in these forums does not mean I have to check my sense of humor at the door. The Refuge forums have a lot of YOUNG members these days, who want nothing more than to contribute. Whether it be first hand experience or news from a friend, it is always welcomed. Our youth are the future of our sport, targets or ducks, no difference. Tell them to shut-up, you may lose them forever. .
  10. . Well, after doing some cutting and pasting, I turned that 108 page SuperSport manual into 6 pages. Just enough pictures so I can put the gun back together. Us old folks like pictures .
  11. . dbo, thanks, but I already have the 14-3/8" LOP. mudhen, you will have to refresh my memory about taking jabs at Benelli owners. I would not be looking for a ComforTech gel pad unless I owned a Benelli ( or 2 ). Unless you are referring to me saying I thought the complaints I read here about the stiff release buttons and "aggressive" checkering were unfounded. That was just my opinion. .
  12. . I used the Talon Quick Release # TAL-79400 Swivel Kit. About $8.00 . [ 11-21-2004, 01:32 AM: Message edited by: Chester-TN ]
  13. . I am new to these forums. I am guessing that someone from Benelli checks these forums from time to time. My first Benelli was a SBE that I won at a DU Event. I shot it for 2 years, then sold it to a friend who begged me for it. He is a big DU fan and wanted the DU SBE. After several years I decided to go back to a Benelli. I just purchased a SuperSport and a SBE II. I am very pleased with these guns. Is this correct ??????? You think some one could look in their desk draw and send my a ComforTech gel pad ???? Regards, Chester-TN . [ 11-20-2004, 02:07 AM: Message edited by: Chester-TN ]
  14. . Thanks fellows. It is much appreciated. .........Chester-TN .
  15. . Any idea when the Benelli shotgun owner's manuals will be on-line ?? I am mainly interested in the Super Sport manual. My dog ate mine. The gun is easy enough to service, but I would still like to have the manual handy. .........Chester-TN .
