I'm new to this forum and need a little help. I have a M1 that I bought used and don't have a manual for. I am trying to clean the entire gun after a very wet duck hunt and cannot get the spring tube in the buttstock off--is there a secret or does the nut on the end of the tube just screw off? If it does then mine is Very Tight!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Rick James
