  1. Tucker! If anyone is Darwinian in nature it would be you with your superiority complex. For some reason you remind me of that old sour pussed lady on that jelly commercial that always turns up her nose whenever she hears "please pass the jelly".
  2. Sorry abot all the ruckus for I just called Benelli and they assured me that whoever had given me the above info was incorrect. She must have actually been with the '$ales' department with tucker.
  3. Well, at least old Tucker obviously needs to get off his bootie and learn to be more bienvenido after the way he knocked my R1 wish list last week and now insuates that I am a ignorant neophyte who should not be able to shoot a gun. Gullable dreamer I may be but I am probably not as ignorant and snotty as you. I was aware of the need of the R1 barrel changes but I simply got a wild hair and decided to speak with benelli about how great it would be to design a multi. 30 cal. gun without the need to lug around extra barrels; heck, might as well cary a whole extra gun, I thought. Well, low and behold the self-perclaimed tech. expert finally got on the line and to my great surprise repeatedly insisted that the 308 Win. and 300 WSM cartridges could use the same barrel. I will be calling Benelli tomorrow and I am sure they have read this as well.
  4. Acting so authoritative and quick to judge behind your keyboards makes you all sound like cowards which is also probably why you both write so much about being gun experts. The only reason that I asked y'all was because a lady at Benelli customer service assured me that it would be no problem shooting 308 Win. out of the 300 WSM barrel as long as the bolt-face was changed. Call them up yourself if you do not believe me and get a life.
  5. Tucker103 So what you are actually telling me is that I could shoot the 308 out of the Benelli R1 300 wsm barrel with just a simple bolt-face change but not out of the 300 Winmag barrel? [ 07-12-2005, 12:58 PM: Message edited by: moracho ]
  6. Tucker301 The R3T then is what I wish for and I kinda like that HK 416 that you showed. I have a question to you that may be a stupid one and was asked on another thread but I have not recieved an aswer to it yet. What are the differences if any between the magnum and 308 R1 barrels besides length?
  7. Tucker you asked what we 'wished' for so you should not get all sour pussed when some of us want a tactical hunting rifle. Heck, even Benelli stresses the "Battle proven ARGO system" with both their RI and M4. That is good business savy because your so called GI Goe rifles and shotguns are very popular among hunters today and for good reasons that I should not need to get into. Just look at all of the tactical Remington 7400 being promoted. Why Browning and Benelli have not jumped on the ban wagon may have something to to with BATF. You say that Beretta and HK our filling our semiauto tactical niche and the BM59 and CETME are great rifles but I think they stopped making them before I was born. Here is just one of thousands of articles that may help you: http://www.entreprise.com/News/Articles/guntestapril_99.htm Most importantly though is that no rifles that I know of have come with the ability to shoot both a magnum and 308 win cartridge by simply switching magazines and bolt face. Maybe I am wrong but I feel that the RI has extreme tactical potential. [ 07-11-2005, 03:32 PM: Message edited by: moracho ]
  8. - Give it M4S90 traits such as tactical furniture and Battle worthiness . - To accept m14 magazines in the 308 model. - 26" barrel in the 300 Winmag model. - Iron sights. - Wish it was made here so the BATF would allow all of the cool stuff to be added and imported. - Or make it so us civies can do our own mods like with the Saiga and VEPR imports.
  9. Is any one shooting 308 Win. out of there 300 wsm or 300 wm barrels? Are there any differences between the barrels that come with either the 308 and 300 magnum R1 rifles? I think that the twist in the 300 magnums and 308 Win or the same but what about the 30-06?
