  1. The above ones that Tucker displayed are Limbsavers... to avoid confusion.

Limbsaver has always fit the bill on my Nova. Can't imagine going anywhere else for recoil reduction. Shoot goose rounds all day long and wake up happy the next morning.

Then take the advice that was given to you... go to the police station. I doubt they are going to "hint around." They will probably be pretty darn happy to see a younger fellow taking interest in being lawful with his firearm. Get off the internet, drive to the cop shop, and get some answers.
  3. You can clean up a LOT of the rattle in the forearm by adjusting the allen-head screws on it. Tighten them in evenly until the pump moves a little stiff. Then, back them out .25 to .5 turn (depending on how you want it to feel) and you are good to go.

  4. Is your tactical from the Super Nova line? I.E., does it have a removable stock? Or is the stock and reciever one seamless piece?

If your answers are "No, No, Yes." Then your answer is "no."

If your answers are "Yes, Yes, No." Then your answer is "yes."

If your answers are anything else, you are completely confused and need further assistance.

  5. Tucker - You're a scary, scary man. Dang, that kid looks good in the Carhartt bibs though... :D

The wife probably would have been reaching for something if she had to deliver it normally. However, the kid was breech and a C-section was ordered two weeks before her due date. Saved us ALL a lot of pain and suffering!

    Thanks for the kudos!

  6. My attention to threads recently has been very poor. I do have a valid excuse however! Our family has added a new addition: Noah. He ended up being a lunker, 9lbs 6ozs and 23" long. He doesn't seem really interested in holding any of the shotguns yet. However, he has repeatedly pooped himself when I mention poor quality firearms. Coincidence? Perhaps not!

  7. In addition to all the above points (which are excellent), I like the fact that these forums still have a "small" feel to them. People still connect with other people and it isn't just a faceless crowd throwing around opinions.

  8. Look at the scope on that thing! If you didn't hit what you were aiming at, you could take the scope off and beat it to death.

Looks like a heck of a lot of fun to shoot. The gopher population must suffer when you get bored.

  9. Yeah, the irony of society... Craigslist is really a pretty disgusting place when you start looking. I don't stray from "Sporting", "Free", or "Motorcycles" much. Still need to find an old dirt bike to ride around town...

  10. craigslist actually has a no firearms clause in their AUP or some document of that nature. You can still post them, but you can probably expect some flak from some of the people over there.

  11. BUT... he is writing songs specific to ONLY a US audience (what other country would be interested in impeaching its current president for issues surrounding a drawn-out war?). He is directing his message specifically to US citizens.

Clearly, it's effective. He's stirred enough interest in the US that a bunch of gun-heads are debating the validity of his points on a forum designated for Italian-made firearms. Toss in a few Canadians to keep the conversation lively and I would say that Young could say "Mission Accomplished."

  12. At the top of the page is the "Search" function. Semi-common questions such as this can be answered with a little digging. Plus, you get to read all the previous wisdom these fellows have spouted!

P.S. It is "after" the mercury slug.

  13. Music was much better when he was with the other fellows also. His stuff now sounds like he is a bit past the prime of his musical career.

Perhaps that's why he's resorting to blatantly politically-fueled lyrics to sell albums. Regardless of what you feel, the title of the song "Let's Impeach the President" is just a bit more obvious that I care for. At least try to disguise your political message in a carefully constructed metaphor. Sheesh... some people.

  14. Good questions.

Question 1 will answer question 6, and visa-versa. The reciever is not drilled and tapped. A cantilever barrel would be your best bet for scopes. There are some mounts that mount onto the reciever, but they have dubious results.

Question 2: I am fairly certain that they are not crio-treated.

Question 3: Yes. Tacstar makes some. However, I have not heard anything about their quality. Standard Nova extensions should fit.

I have to get back to work... may answer more later.

  15. My buddy uses some stuff by Shooters Choice (Shotgun Cleaner, or something like that tongue.gif ). IIRC, it's been around a while, but it's supposed to target shotgun specific fouling.

I use Breakfree CLP. It's always done the job for me, but I suspect you probably cycle a few more shells than I do.
