Butch-M...I called about 5 other dealers and found exactly what I wanted...in fact I picked it up yesterday. Benelli did respond to the e-mail I had sent them asking about delivery dates...I only had to wait 3 weeks for the reply. They said the gun I had originally ordered is on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic and will arrive in 3-4 weeks or about 2 1/2 months after I ordered it. If anybody is looking for a LH, 28", SBEII with camo I know where to find one.

OK, I misspoke...it wasn't the receiver the fore end wouldn't clear...it was the exterior of the barrel (just outside the chamber) where the fore end is supposed to seat. I kept playing with it and discovered that it can't "snap" into place as stated in the manual...maybe due to the thickness of the camo finish. I got it together, but discovered that the carrier control button won't release the bolt from the open position. The only way that I can close the bolt is to depress the carrier by inserting my finger into the ejection port. Any suggestions on why the carrier control button doesn't release the bolt?

I just brought home my new SBEII and am trying to assemble it. I can't get the fore end to snap on the barrel-breech (step #5). The spring in the fore end is seated correctly and compresses against the barrel guide ring, but the fore end just doesn't clear the receiver (it looks to be a fraction too long). Is there a trick to getting it to snap on? Thanks

I ordered a left-handed, 28" SBEII w/camo 2 weeks ago. The shop I ordered it from said they have no idea when it will be shipped. I e-mailed Benelli's customer service over a week ago asking for a "ball-park" date and have received no response at all. Am I expecting too much in wanting at least a reply? What kind of lead time should I expect between order and delivery? Sorry, I guess I'm just a little excited about the SBEII.
