  1. Thank you. I really wanted a shooter, so I feel better knowing there's no reason not to blast away. Sorry if it seemed like an obvious question to some, but I'm much more dialed in with handgun values and collectibility. ........................ Tucker301, You're about 16 years late on that advice.
  2. LOL! Sorry about that, obviously I meant 28". That shift key can be tricky. Edit made. No, the trade did not happen through the forum. I made a trade with a co-worker.
  3. I recently traded into a 28" 12ga Montefeltro made in 1998. It is an older Super 90 version with satin wood, matte receiver, and a polished barrel. The gun is NIB and includes the box, styrofoam liner, manual, 5 chokes, wrench, shims, and plates. The owner bought it new and never shot it. The styrofoam and box show wear but everything else is spotless. I had intended on shooting it but then started to think... are these guns collectible at all? I was wanting a shooter, but would hate to ruin something otherwise desirable. I appreciate your advice.
  4. I contacted Benelli today and found out that the barrel s/n and the receiver s/n should not match. I have also seen a bunch of pictures of older Monte's and it appears that they have polished barrels, just like mine. I'm satisfied mine is all original.
  5. Regarding my older Montefeltro 12ga (Item #10800): I read elsewhere that the "Letter" barrel code determines the year of manufacture for the gun. My barrel code is "BL," which seems to place it at 1998. There is a 7-digit alpha-numeric code roll-stamped on the opposite side of the barrel (C478XXX). It does not come close to matching the receiver's serial number (M333XXX). The gun's cardboard box states that that the gun has "matte metal finish." The receiver is matte, but the barrel is polished. The actual barrel does match the length stated on the box, which is 28". Is this normal or do I have a replacement barrel? Thanks
