WD-40 eats Aluminum? I never heard that before. Anybody else know anything about this?

Are these smooth bore barrels interchangeable between models without modifications? Also do you guys think WD40 is sufficient for lubing the gun and preventing rust? What type of oil do you guys use? Thanks, John
