  1. I really like the Primos Dead zone chokes. I have both the Decoy and the pass shooting choke. I use the decoy choke for ducks and pheasants. 3.5 inch 2's worked great for ducks. I had great success for pheasants shooting 3 inch 3's and 4's with the decoy choke when I had to shoot steel. The verdict is still out for the pass shooting choke. I had some success using it later in the season on longer shots but really didn't use it a whole lot. Most days the decoy choke did the job.
  2. The Dead Zone chokes worked very well in my SBE II this year as well. I was dropping birds out to 35 yards shooting Federal speed shock and the Decoy choke. Pass shooting choke worked very well with BB's Federals for geese. Federal 3's and 4's through the Decoy choke worked great for pheasants this year also.
  3. I am a proud owner of an SBE II. Shot it for the first time last season and loved it. I've been reading the posts on the Benelli forums ever since I purchased the gun last year. Any way, here are my questions? 1. I've been looking at the Primos dead zone chokes for my gun and wondering how they perform in comparison to the factory chokes? I was thinking of picking up both the pass and decoy choke for this year. 2. If anyone currenty has these chokes what loads are you shooting for ducks and geese with them? 3. From what I gather, it looks like the Pass shooting choke is similar to the IM factory choke? If you aren't suppose to shoot steel out the the factory IM what makes the Primos choke different? 4. Is the Pass shooting choke to tight for BB or BBB steel shot? 5. Last question. What factory choke is the Decoy choke similar to? Thanks in advance to anyone who replies to my questions. I was hoping for a few user reviews on these chokes before I buy. I just wanted to be sure I'm not making a mistake.
  4. So that's what I've been doing wrong? I haven't been shooting upside down, but since I shoot an SBEII I guess can't anyway. I wonder If I could kill more ducks if I was shooting upside down? My buddy owns an extrema2 and after a days hunt, I'm done cleaning my gun way before he is.
  5. Paul, I would be interested in hearing what you find out about this because what your describing sounds a little like what is happening to my choke. Keep us posted......
  6. I noticed something similar on my gun today and made a post about it before I had read yours. The outside of my choke is peeling, just below the threads. It looked like metal shavings. It just seems to flake right off. This was the first weekend that I was able to really put it to use. This weekend I put 2 boxes of BB's through it. total I have maybe put 4 boxes through this choke since I have purchase the gun. Not sure if the inside of the choke is peeling or not. It looks worn even after I have cleaned it.
  7. I finally got some use out of my new SBE2 this weekend shooting ducks and put about 2 boxes of shells through it, and the gun worked great! When I went to clean it I took the choke out of it and noticed the outside of the choke looked like it was coated with metal shavings. When I wiped it off I noticed the outside coating of the choke was coming off. Should I be worried? Has this happened to others. I am a little nervous that these metal flakes will cause a problem with the threads on the choke or in the barrel.
  8. Bill, thanks for the link I might have to give that a try. The mosquitos get pretty nasty here in MN during the early goose season in September. I don't want to be worrying about my camo finish if there is an alternative to the stink spray!
  9. What is a ThermoCell?
  10. Pretty tough to pull a boat with a bike don't you think?
  11. Thanks tucker301, just wanted to make sure. It's good to know there is a place to come for answers.

  13. I have recently purchased the SBE II and noticed after I had just put it back together that with the bolt in the open position you can hear the inertia spring inside the bolt move when you tip the gun up and down. Is this normal? I guess I never listened for it before I took it apart. Maybe it made that noise before I cleaned it. I am not familiar with this recoil operation. Did I put the gun back together properly? [ 04-11-2006, 02:10 PM: Message edited by: cmhunter ]
  14. Thanks for clearing that up tucker301. [ 03-23-2006, 04:06 PM: Message edited by: cmhunter ]
