  1. I finished Randy Cain's Tactical Shotgun Class at Southern Exposure in Lakeland, Florida this weekend. Randy is an amazing instructor, is verty thorough and really knows his stuff. I have read alot about his handgun classes, but his tactical shotgun nclass is two thumbs up. At the begining of the class a lot was siad about "Those Benellis", how they jam and how the Remington 870 Wingmasters are THE way to go. The class had 18 people and there were six Benellis ranging from a Nova, to two M4's. There were a number of 870 jams, short strokes, etc. There was only 1 benelli jam after one guy loaded a 12 ga 00 buck shell backwards. The class was three full days, we zero'd the shotguns at 75 yards using slugs and all in all shot almost 500 rounds. In general, the Benelli's performed as well if not better than anyother shotgun. In fact, the M4's were amazing especially with the extended mag tubes and the ability to hold 8 2-3/4" rounds including one in the chamber. I had heard all the BS about Benellis not being able to run in a 3 day class shooting hundreds of rounds without jamming. Excuse my french but that is just complete Bull$*%@.
  2. Sweet toy, you did an amazing job with it. What made you go with the Docter Optic red dot vs. Eotech or one of th ethers? Inquiring minds want to know.
  3. I am looking for a tactical light mount without changing the fore end grips. Has anyone tried this mount for my M4? DSA, Inc. BT21454 Benelli M4 Super 90 and Remington 870 Rail Mount for lights and lasers, top & bottom rail, Swiss manufacture by Brugger & Thomet $84.95
  4. Thanks gents, appreciate all of the info.
  5. I also need recommendations on ammo.... Slugs? Buck? Bird? Thanks
  6. So my self esteem is once again riding high. Got home, cleaned my new little (big) friend, took the wife out for a bite and now have the M4 sittin next to me. Will head over to Outdoor World or Walmart tomorrow for some ammo. So tell me, what is the difference between the M4 and M1014? [ 06-09-2006, 08:20 PM: Message edited by: Ghost Dancer ]
  7. Phew, feeling better. When I get home tonight I will clean it up (still has oil on it) and will get ready to do some shootin tomorrow. Sometimes this "religion" stuff preeached by self proclaimed gun experts (especially those that never used a specific gun) drive me nuts.
  8. I received a new Benelli M4 today with all three stocks (came as a package). Picked it up at noon and was REALLY excited, so I called a friend to let him know. He said "You bought what? Those guns really suck. I have two friends who bought them and have sold them because of constant malfunctions." Jeez, I thought to myself that now I am really screwed. Spent $1500 and I have a POS shotgun that I can't depend on. Someone please help me out.....I will be up all night agonizing over this. Was this a good decision for a home self defense shotgun? I sure hope so. Ghost Dancer
