  1. AI've got a M2 with the comfortech stock, it has a plastic swivel stud on the bottom. I bought an uncle mike's quick adjust sling and a pair of QD swivels. The swivel doesn't attach well to the stock stud. It looks like the swivel post is two short or something. Can anyone recommend a part number that I could order/buy that they know fits? Actually, they don't have to be Uncle Mike's they can be from anyone.

  2. 3. Grasp the old bolt handle, yank it out of the bolt

Sometimes this is hard, many people tie some string around the bolt handle and yank it out with that. It's easier to get a good grip on the other end of the string than to get a good grip on the stock bolt handle.

  3. I'm trying to figure out if the plastic loop on the bottom of the comfortech stock and the wide metal slot at the forend cap are the attachment points for a sling, what slings work with these attachment points, and what other hardware I might need.

I've looked at 3-point slings, but I think just a simple "hunting" sling would be fine. Looking for suggestions on brands and models.

  4. I've got an M2 tactical with a comfortech stock. It's got the 18.5" barrel rifle sights, not the ghost ring sights, so there's no rear sight on the reciever. The stock has a small loop on the bottom (I'm not talking about the side of the stock where the M3 has a sling mounting point). There is also a metal piece between the forend and the magazine extension which has a slot in it. These both look like sling mounting points. I've been looking at: http://www.spectergear.com/ and http://www.outdoorconnection.com/products/slings/slings.htm

    - What slings fit these points? Would these all be two point slings? I've seen "shotgun slings" that have straps arround the stock to provide a rear mounting point. Do I even need that because I've got this little loop on the bottom of the stock?

    Thanks for the help.

  5. An update:

The part number for M2 Field 26" matte black barrel is 81255. The 28" matte black barrel is 81250. The MSRP is $380. Customer service said they're about 45-60 days backordered .They also said I couldn't order one myself, that I'd have to go thru a dealer.

Anyone know of a place that might have these in stock? None of my local dealers seem to stock the item.

  6. That's interesting about the magazine tube spring. It'll get excercised MORE than a couple of times a year, I have to practice!

I hear this a lot about pistol magazine springs as well. However, it is my understanding that constant compression on a spring doesn't wear it out, motion does. But having a replacement can't hurt.

  7. I am (and my wife is too) used to condition 1 on the pistol, we both practice picking it up and sweeping the safety. I'd prefer to treat the shotgun the same way, having us both practice enough that it becomes muscle memory.

So, I've got nothing to worried about mechanically keeping it condition 1? Are there drop tests performed on long guns? Is there some sort of trigger block that is found in many modern DA/SA semi-auto glock/hk/sig pistols? It's a single action trigger right? That is, I can't really leave it round in the chamber hammer down (I've got a SA/DA pistol).

    Thanks for the advice.

  8. Currently, I keep a pistol cocked and locked at my bedside. That is, round in the chamber, hammer cocked, safety on. I've convinced myself that this handgun is safe this way. There is only one other person in the house and she knows how to operate the pistol. We never have others in the house. Guns are locked up when we're not at home.

I'm getting an M2 soon. It's going to be a bedside gun. How do others keep their semi-auto shotguns ready? Is it safe to keep a round in the chamber and the safety on? If not, why? Is the gun not drop safe? Is it easy to get used to chambering a shell in the the m2 with that small lever with practice?

  9. I just got off the phone with customer support. They're catalog lists a hard case as one of the accessories for the M2 tactical (and only 3 choke tubes, so that's right). But, the women I spoke to said Benelii doesn't even have a hard case that fits the M2 tactical. So, they're going to send a soft case.

  10. I talked to someone from Benelli yesterday, I'll answer my own questions.

    - I see the modular stock system advertised, but I don't see a comfortech stock available in the catalog. If I buy an M2 tactical with non-pistol synthetic stock, can I swap out for a Comfortech stock? Where would I get one for the m2 tactical?
It is possible to change the stocks on the M2, but Benelli doesn't currently offer the Comfortech stock for the M2 as a separate part. They may in the future.

    - I notice the M2 tactical with synthetic stock has a built in +2 magazine extension, but the model with Comfortech does not. Is this extension easily available as an acessory (or is this going down the whole imported parts problem?)
I'm sure you all know this by know. Benelli won't import them, try TacStar (but I'd still like to find a +2 for the M2 instead of a +3)

    - I'm a lefty, but I've shot only right-handed guns without much trouble. I'm wondering if buying a left-handed comfort gel pad will work in the normally right-handed M2 tactical.

Yes, this works. The left handed buttpad fits the right handed M2 tactical. Benelli doesn't make a left handed M2 tactical and the rep I spoke to said something about not being able to buy a left-handed m2 field and then use a 18.5" barrel with it (it's a "right handed bbl"?!?)
