  1. Why does all of benelli literature shows 4+1

    ****guy,

Load the mag tube, put one in the chamber, then hit the red button on the side of the receiver. I think it will kick a shell onto the carrier. Then load the tube again.

It's not possible to load additional rounds into the tube with a shell on the lifter.

  2. How do you do the one under the bolt? I never seen that done before.

Start with the magazine fully loaded and the bolt forward with the chamber empty.

Pull the bolt back far enough to fit a shell onto the lifter. If you pull the bolt back too far the lifter will flip up, but you just have to push it back down and ease the bolt back forward a bit.

Now place the round on the lifter, keep it held down enough to clear the bolt and ride the bolt forward.

With the round just partly under the bolt carrier, slip another round in the chamber. Or you can ignore this step if you want the chamber empty.

I'll try to make a video of this.

  3. An out of the box M4 will hold 5 in the tube, 1 in the chamber, and 1 on the shell lifter under the bolt for a total of 7.

The full length M1014 tube or M4 tube with extension will hold 7 in the tube, 1 in the chamber, and 1 under the bolt for 9 total.

  4. 922r is dead per the atf which was the assault weapons ban that is no more. Why do you think all the collapsable stocks etc are out there and for sale.

Nope. 922® lives on and will never sunset. This is from the ATF's website:

    SAW = Semiautomatic Assault Weapon

LCAFD = Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device

Q: Does the expiration of the SAW ban and the LCAFD ban affect importation?

A: LCAFDs are no longer prohibited from importation but they are still subject to the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act. An approved Form 6 import permit is still required. Non-sporting firearms are still prohibited from importation under sections 922(l) and 925(d)(3) of the GCA. Because the vast majority of SAWs are nonsporting, they generally cannot be imported.

If an importer has an approved Form 6 import permit for LCAFDs with a restriction stamp on it related to the ban, the importer may import LCAFDs using the permit and disregard the restriction stamp. Importers may apply for a new permit if they prefer.

Temporary importation of SAWs and LCAFDs is now lawful under the provisions of Title 27, CFR, section 478.115(d) because firearms that are temporarily imported are not required to meet sporting purpose requirements.

Q: Does the expiration of the SAW ban change laws regarding assembly of nonsporting shotguns and semiautomatic rifles from imported parts?

A: No. The provisions of section 922® of the GCA and the regulations in 27 CFR 478.39 regarding assembly of non-sporting shotguns and semiautomatic rifles from imported parts still apply.

  5. That's interesting Thunderbolt. I agree with your parts count but a BATFE letter to M4madness last year somehow came up with 11. Who says you have to graduate high school to get a gubbermint job.

I've seen that letter. It left out the bolt, bolt carrier, and the gas pistons.

  6. I'm sorry if I read this wrong, but if I added a mag extension to an M4 with a synthetic pistol grip stock am I still okay? Plus whatever else, heat shield, scope, ghost rings, flashlight, ect.

It's either the pistol grip or the extension. You can't have both unless you knock down the parts count.

    4. Bolt carrier

    5. Trigger housing

    6. Trigger

    7. Disconnector

    8. Hammer

    9. Buttstock

    10. Pistol grip

    11. Forearm/handguard

    12. Magazine tube

    13. Follower

    14. Gas Piston 1

    15. Gas Piston 2

  8. It does not matter what state you live in, a functioning telescoping stock with pistol grip in still prohibited throughout the United States unless you add 5 approved US made parts or add the gun to the NFA registry. An imported semi-automatic shotgun cannot have both a pistol grip or telescoping/folding stock. This has been the law since before the Brady Bill and is still standing.

You can install a US made or Italian made full length magazine tube or extension to your M4 without adding any US parts by either installing the M4 synthetic field stock or by limiting the tube to 5 rounds with a plug.

    It's a stupid law, I know. :(

  9. The M1 and M4 are both regulated under definition of the 1968 GCA. The Nova is not.

178.40 Manufacture, transfer, and possession of semiautomatic assault weapons.

    (a) Prohibition. No person shall manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon.
