Wow, the price of Benelli shotguns has gone up a bunch since my last purchase
-
It appears that Tom is using an extension as opposed to replacing the factory magazine tube with a 9-shot OEM tube. It also appears to be Benelli facotry OEM, judging from the look in the photo. I am using a HiViz front sight but this one looks to be better for hunting.....more functional. Does anyone have experience with RCI magazine tubes as an alternate to Benelii OEM? It does not appear that Benelli magazine tubes or extensions are available (unless on the secondary used market)? Does anyone have a source for Benelli OEM 9 shot factory magazine tubes or extensions to get the magazine capacity up to 9 rounds (10 total unless ghost loading). Thanks Pat

Does anyone know what the specs were for Tom Knapp's shotgun? He always said that it was taken right off the shelf, added a magazine extension and new sights. Where can one find an OEM magazine extension to get you to 10 rounds and what length barrel did he shoot (26"?)? What hi-visability sights did he use? Not that I would ever be a Tom Knapp but setting a shotgun up the same would be a good start. Also are OEM magazine extension available for a Benelli M1 20 gauge? Thanks Pat

Dang.... I need a new shotgun Can they be made to fit or a totally different set-up? Pat

Found the ad.... Maybe look at a comfort tech stock??????? Pat

Thanks, I think I will stay put with the M1 barrels I have as I have about one of every M1 barrel and it would take both pockets full of cash to replace with M2 barrels. The film clip was done by one of the Benelli sponsored trick shooters Tom Knapp (shoot 10 clays in under 2 seconds or something like that) so I was wondering if it was to sell M2's or if it really made a difference. Sounds like it was just a sales pitch. Tom died recently at the age of 62. Here was his record breaking shooting I can't find the ad with Tom and another Benelli trick shooter that shot clays over his shoulder and behind his back. I did find this ad which was cute... Thanks Pat

First, are the newer M2 barrels better than the older M1 barrels? I was watching a show and they said the barrels with the choke tube thread further down the bore are suppose to be cryo treated and shoot a much better pattern than the older M1 barrels with the threading at the muzzle. I am set on M1 barrels for my needs but should I consider looking for an M2 barrel with the choke tube threads further down the barrel rather than at the end like all of mine? What else would I have to change to use a new M2 barrel on an older M1 receiver? Thanks Pat

All of the photos for the collapsible stocks don't show the tube for the recoil spring that would be required for the 3 or 4 positional notches. So for $325 to $600 you get the stock, where do you get the tube? What is required to replace the tube (is the factory silver soldered in or green Loctited like the magazine tube)? Pat

I just purchased a used Benelli M1 (20 gauge). Not the same gun but the lesson may be the same. The gun would not chamber the shells reliably. When the bolt was locked back and I "hit the button" the bolt would not always go into a locked position. I tore the thing apart and cleaned the dickens out of the recoil spring area, bolt receiver etc. I lightly lubed with RemOil and reassembled. It seemed to work a bit better but was still not reliable. I finally tore apart the magazine and cleaned and lubed everything. THAT was the issue. The follower was all gummed up and dirty and the magazine spring could not force the shells onto the carrier easily. I typically do not (or didn't ) clean my magazine assembly. Just another area to look at and make sure it is clean and working properly. BTW I am looking to replace the recoil and magazine springs to make sure the gun is reliable as it is intended to be my chukar gun and I DO NOT want to be fiddling with the thing when the birds are a flyin. Still looking...any ideas where to find an OEM 20 gauge mag extension? Thanks Pat
-
Looking for a Benelli factory mag extension for a Benelli M1 or M2 Super90. Prefer a 2 shot extension if they make them or a 4 shot would work as well. Thanks Pat

I am gathering up a collection of shells I have a box of Kent, Remington and Winchester and have one box of Federal Premium, Winchester Premium and Fiocchi Golden Pheasant on order. I have been looking all over for a box of 2 3/4" Federal Prairie Storm #6's but with no luck. I have even tried a number of on-line dealers (Midway, Natchez, Ammo-To-Go, and Cabelas) Does anyone have an on-line resource for premium shotgun ammo that may have ONE box in stock I just sent a note into Federal looking for suggestions from them as well. I have a M1 field 20 gauge and went through heck to get a box of Remington Express Long Range 2 3/4" #6 shotgun shells as the 12 gauge variety shoots so well from my SBE. Well the dog gone thing has several holes in the pattern. I adjusted the pattern right and down to shoot 50/50 as it is a chukkar gun but now to find something that closes up the holes in the pattern. What have others found in a 2 3/4" #6's that shoot well in a 20 gauge M1? Thanks Pat
-
I am not as I believe that they only make those for a 12 ga. I can check tomorrow and see if they make a 20 ga. Thanks Pat
-
So am still looking for sling attachment options using a Nordic Components magazine extension. Has anyoe tried on of these 12 ga attachments on a M1S90 or a 12 Ga Benelli? GGG QD for remington 870 Scattergun Technologies for a Remington 870. Thanks Pat
-
I forgot to ask...is there someone on here that has access to Benelli pieces and parts? Thanks Pat
-
I got the Nordic Comp 4 shot extension now I am looking for a barrel "brace" to support the mag tube to the barrel (I believe that a flashlight adapter from Brownells may work (3/4" barrel, 1" mag tube extension)). Are there other options out there? The other piece that I have yet to find an adequate replacement for is the sling adpater plate. One came with my factory 2 shot 12 gauge extension I use on my SBE but I have yet to find a 20 gauge adapter. Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to find one? I did not find one at Brownells or Gunparts. How does noe go about ordering parts directly from Benelli or do I have to go through a local dealer? Thanks Pat
-
I have a Nordic Components 4 shot mag extender coming in and SBM said that they would take a look and see if they could modify it to a 2 round extension. I just put a lightly used M1 S90 synthetic 26" 20 ga on lay-away. I found a factory 4 shot magazine but could not find a 2 shot factory extender or find any evidence that one was ever made. Pat
-
The problem is finding 20 gauge pieces and parts unless I am reading the parts list wrong they all seem to be for 12 gauge. Pat
-
Who carries a good selection of pieces and parts for Benelli's other than Benelli? I am looking for several items and Brownells is no help...others? M1 20ga sling plate, barrel band SBE pieces and parts (the old first model in Advantage camo). etc. Thanks Pat
-
Cody, That would be great. If they have a Benelli factory extension kit I would be very interesed as it should come with the barrel hanger and sling plate that I have yet to find with other manufacturers. I was looking at the Nordic Components 20 gauge plus four extender and have exchanged e-mails about modifying the extension. They said it COULD be done but would void the warranty. I went ahead and ordered the NC 4 shot extension yesterday to check it out but would still like to get a Benelli factory 20 gauge extension. Just PM me if you have any ideas where I might find new old stock Benelli 20 gauge extenders or where I could call and look. Thanks Pat
-
Has anyone tried the mag extensions? In years past Choate was not known for their quality. Any other options for a 20ga? Pat
-
I am looking at Benelli 20ga shotguns for chukar hunting. The three choices I see are: Benelli UL-20...5.2lbs, wood stock, 2 round magazine, no way to increase magazine capacity Benelli Montefeltro...5.6lbs, wood stock, 4 round magazine capacity, no way to add one round to the capacity. Benelli M1/M2...5.8lbs, synthetic stock, 3 round magazine, can increase magazine capacity. Does this pretty much cover it? What is the difference between an M1 and an M2 besides the stock? Thanks Pat
-
Does anyone besides Choate make a plus 2 magazine extension for a 20 gauge M1/M2 shotgun? Did Benelli ever make a 20 gauge plus 2 magazines extension? Thanks Pat
-
Does the M1 synthetic hardware fit the Benelli ultra-lite 20 gauge? Is there a plus two mag extension available for the gun? Are the stocks adjustable for drop and cast? Thanks Pat
