I've used my Nova for 5 years and got lots of rain and salt water on it....but no rust problems. When I bought it the salesman knew I would be waterfowling and strongly recommended that I get the camo model. I really think that the camo coating has been helpful in protecting the gun ...and it has no sign of peeling off like my son's 11-87 is. After each hunt I fog the gun down with WD40 and no worries.

I have found that when I am bundled up for cold weather I have a little trouble getting my Nova up to my shoulder quickly when the ducks come in. The bulkiness of my jacket,etc, causes the recoil pad to drag and sometimes I wind up shooting without the gun really settled into the pocket of my shoulder. I am of average build and height; my arms are actually a little long for my size. (My Nova is a basic 5 year old model). Does any company make a thinner recoil pad? Has anyone tried cutting their pad down?
