I am considering a Cordoba 12 Ga. Love the handling qualities and weight distribution. Like it better then the Beretta Urika2. That is a lot to admit from a 2 decade Beretta Auto fan. I also like the Benelli grip a lot better then the in my mind too sharp a radius in the Urika 2 grip. My intended use is long shots at flocks of flushing sharptails and spooky wild pheasants with lead 1 1/4 oz or 1 3/8 oz., some sporting clays practice with 1 oz., ducks with steel loads 2 3/4 or 3 inch. The one factor that keeps me from actually buying it is the porting feature. How disturbing would the increased noise level of the porting be to gun dogs we be shooting over and people besides me? Another situation I am worried about is when sharing a duck blind with another hunter, what the porting blast will do to his ears. Has anyone experience with the Cordoba or supersport in a hunting situation as mentioned above? Please let me know what your experiences were? Next question, someone mentioned that a Benelli M2 Field is the same gun as a Cordoba minus the porting and extended chokes. Is this correct? Next question, would there be apreciable difference in handling qualities between a Cordoba 28 inch tube versus a 30 inch tube ?. Hope someone can enlighten me. Thank you for your time, Shrike

Rust problems?? Here is a good solution that lasts for quite some time. Forget about oils and greases. The stain your hunting garments and wear off quickly. I coat all my rifles and shotgun exterior steel surfaces with Johnsons floor wax paste or turtle car wax. Wipe down the wax. Let dry then rub with a dry cloth or paper towel, go hunting in a wet boat on a rainy day and enjoy yourself. No more rust problems. Repeat once a while. It works great! Shrike

I have been a lifetime Beretta user. I now am looking to replace my AL390 in 12 Gauge. I am not comfortable with the in my view exagerated radius of the Urika 2 grip, also at the age of 68 the heavier Beretta weight becomes a negative factor. I fell in love with the handling qualities of the Cordoba 12 Gauge. It seems the gun for me. Love the grip, balance and fit. I imagine long shots at flushing sharptails or pheasants with stiff 1 3/8 oz lead loads, some clay targets with 1 oz loads, a dose of duck shooting with 23/4 or 3 inch steel loads. One thing that makes me apprehensive about buying the gun is the porting feature. My perception is that the excessive noise from the porting, will be very disturbing to people besides me and dogs in front of us in hunting situations. Such as in a duck blind or walking up with 2 people to a pointing dog. Has anyone had hunting experience with the Cordoba in the close presence of other people and dogs? What have been your experiences in this regard? One dealer believes that the M2 field is the same gun as the Cordoba, butwithout the porting and the extended choke tubes. Is this correct?
