Cody, may take you up on that. I'm guessing that new cap/stud replaces the threaded stud, opposite the receiver? and the new threaded stud has flat sides above the threads, for an adjustable wrench etc.? Is the lock nut for replacing the stock?
I figured there would be a flat sided/nut shape at the receiver end on the new tubes... Didn't even consider removing the stud. Everything is round..........
So, I need to leave the tube attached to the receiver, and remove the threaded stud at opposite end?
cksh8me, there is no "nut" really. The cap/stud is round, small and recessed inside a bulge in the tube. see pics below. I wouldn't be as hesitant to heat that, just didn't want to damage the receiver.
