  1. Greenhornet, you might go to a local Wally World and get one of those Limbsaver recoil pads with a sleeve that slips on to the stock over the existing one for a short term solution. Exchanging your stocks for one of the Benelli Comfortech stocks (in case your shotgun did not come with one) might help a bit. A fitted mercury recoil reducer (Benelli has one) could also help.

Perceived recoil is always a tough one to diagnose and cure. Sometimes, the stock you have just does not fit you properly and getting that looked into by a stock expert may be the biggest help you can get. I do a lot of testing with all types of shotshells and the guns that seem to be easiest on me are the gas guns. Good luck!

    I already have the limbsaver

  2. For the Montefeltro you have to remove the magazine tube to remove the magazine spring.

Like the M4 magazine tube removal.

Secure the disassembled receiver in a padded vise.

Make an index mark on the receiver / magazine tube with silver sharpie or similar marking device.....this will allow you to restore the magazine / receiver engagement exactly as it was assembled. This must be done because the barrel headspaces off the magazine tube and if it comes unscrewed the barrel will move forward out of battery.

Use a heat gun for several minutes directed at the engagement of the magazine tube with the receiver - this will melt / release the factory Locktite.

Rotate the magazine tube counterclockwise (right hand threads) with heat protective gloves.

The magazine tube, magazine follower, and a magazine spring guide (for the muzzle end of the tube) will then be liberated.

For re-assembly apply blue locktite to the last 1/2 of the magazine tube threads; this will make secondary magazine tube removal much easier, probably by hand alone.

    Can you post picks ?

    Thanks

  3. Hi, I'd like to purchase a Benelli 12 gauge synthetic stock slug gun strictly for whitetail using Federal 3" Barnes X's. Comparing the M1 Field and the SBE the only differences I see are slightly different stock dimensions, a wood stock option and about $300.00 more on the SBE. For my purpose am I missing any advantages with having one over the other?

Hey guys, this year marks my first year of hunting ducks with my new NOVA. What are you guys using for ammo and chokes? So far I've used KENT FASTEEL BB's with MOD choke for Canada's and ducks. Nots too impressed with my duck haul so far so I traded some boxes of BB's for #2s today in hopes of increasing my kills. I'm trying to get some boxes of HEVI-METAL in Southern Ontario but having no luck.

I would love to hear your choke/ammo combos that are working and what you swear by for ducks.

    Cheers
