Both were new in the box. They went through some trouble to change the tooling to make this change. I wonder why and wonder if the new one will have stiffer recoil as a result.

I just bought my third SBE II which was to be a duplicate of one I already own. While the LOP is the same the plastic part of the butt is longer and the recoil pad is thinner. I always liked the fact that the SBE II was soft recoiling but it looks like this new one will be less so. Why the change?
