Flycaster

I seem to be missing something. When I unload my M2 after a days shooting. I pull back the bolt and eject the round. Then I push the carrier up and unload the mag. The carrier stays up and I can't move the bolt forward unless I put my finger into the bit of the bolt and push the carrier down. The bolts slides forward and I have to hold it or my finger will get caught. I have never experienced this with my other auto loaders. What am I doing wrong?
