Where would be a good place to have a "clean" job done. There are few gunsmiths up here I would trust to do a good job?

I am looking for a semi auto shotgun with an 18" barrel and adjustable choke. But has a regular vent rib, not a rifle sight. I cant seem to find anything shorter than 21". Is there a reason for this? Anyone make aftermarket barrel? My purpose is primarily tactical matches but I don't shoot slugs so a straight rib is nice for speed. The adjustable choke would allow for some woods hunting. Anyone got suggestions?
