field barrel (haven't measured it yet because it's at my dad's) with the metal bead sight halfways down and a red fiber optic at the end. Just like it shows on the field configuration if you look at the nova page.

I have owned this gun for a couple years and I want to sell it because I will be studying abroad next year and I need the extra money to pay for tuition. I have a couple other shotguns and this wasn't being used very much (only been trap shooting a few times). No rust, scrapes or any blemishes. It is in excellent condition and has been well maintained. I would like to get $325 shipped to your door.

Well I want a Supernova with the Comfortech stock, drilled and tapped reciever for a picatinny rail, but with a field barrel. I don't think you can buy this combo unless it's special ordered or something but I do have a Nova field and I just found out that that barrel will also fit in the Supernova. If Shotgunnoob's tactical is in good condition I might be interested

Sweet! I have a Nova field but want to upgrade to the Supernova. This way I can get a Supernova tactical w/ the comfortech stock, swap the barrels, and sell the new Nova tactical. I want a Supernova w/ comfortech stock, drilled and tapped reciever for a picatinny rail, but with a field barrel...if this sounds confusing to anyone lol.

I want to get a Supernova an my multi-purpose gun (birds and coyotes) so I want to get the comfortech stock with a field barrel, but I would also like the reciever to be drilled and tapped so I can mount a red dot sight for turkey hunting. Is the turkey configuration drilled/tapped? Otherwise I would need to do something like getting a tactical configuration but with a field barrel without having to buy it separately since they cost almost as much as the gun. Any advice? Does anyone know of a place to get a Supernova cheap? Cabela's has them for $460 (black) and $550 (camo)...

I know coyotes can get spooked easily so I am wondering what lengths I would need to go to get camo'd up before hunting. I'm sure covering your whole body in camo clothes is important but is it necessary to have your gun/whatever else be camo too? It sounds a little over the top to me. Opinions are welcome

Also, I love the all black look of the synthetic, but I was wondering if upgrading to the realtree apg hd camo is that much of a benefit when coyote or turkey hunting? I don't think it would make too much of a difference since it would be a backup gun anyway or would it help? I don't know how spooked they are by that sort of stuff. I would be hunting in spring or winter so i'm sure both would work well for the snow...

patternmaster extended.. its the best.PERIOD
Is the extended worth the extra $10 over the patternmaster long choke tube? They both advertise being effective out to double what these other guys are recommending to shoot, 75-80 yards rather than 30-40 yards. (not that I necessarily would...probably just use the rifle past 40 yards) So more than likely I would just stick with the long and save the money for more ammo.

I use #4 buck and a modified choke as it patterns best for me. I don't shoot over 40 yards, and I do use a shotgun all the time at night. We cannot hunt with a light so the shotgun gives me SOME margin for error. Not much but some error margin. I don't think I would take a shot over 40 yards, and 30 I feel is much better. Good luck and have fun. I used 223 in the day time for yotes...
Are you using just the factory modified? I wanna get a nice bolt .22-250 for long range and also an ar-15 for shorter distances depending on where I hunt.

Yeah I understand that one. Good ammo isn't cheap. I just buy a box here and there throughout the year. By the time the seasons roll around I've got plenty of ammo stocked up and ready to go.
I figure with all the time, effort, and money put into hunting we might as well use the best ammo available to us since its the only part that actually connects with the animal.
True dat. And besides the occasional patterning/breaking in before the season you really only use a box or so.

I havent used this personally but my coworker has used his Super Nova for two years and had great results with it on Coyotes using this setup.

Just an FYI, He uses two guns a .22-250 for the long range stuff and his shotty when they get in closer inside of 60 yards.
Thanks, that is pretty much the exact setup I'm planning on using. That dead coyote ammo is sooo expensive tho so i might just stick with some cheaper federal or remington #4 buckshot...but you never know. It will still be a while before I start coyote hunting so I might change my mind.

I agree and using a shotgun would be my last resort just because it equals more holes in the pelt. i just thought that would be pretty sweet to be shooting that far and still have good patterns but it would be my backup gun so i would try and shoot it as much as i can with my rifle first.

Well the thing is i'm not rich so the option of buying several kinds and testing them all isn't really feasible. I understand all guns, choke tubes, and ammo shoot differently. I was just hoping someone might have a current setup that works well for them...preferably one that can go farther like 60+ yards. Both Patternmaster and Dead Coyote advertise higher than that still.

Until I decide on an AR-15/bolt action for a small caliber predator gun, I plan on using a shotgun with buckshot on coyotes. Has anyone used their Supernova/Nova predator hunting and if so what was your setup? I am leaning more towards a Patternmaster (expensive!) rather than a Carlson's Hevi-shot Dead Coyote choke tube because of more positive reviews but I don't have experience. Also it sounds like #4 buckshot is a good round to use on coyotes. I'm trying to make this my new hobby so any suggestions will be great. Thanks!

I am interested in selling my nova and getting a Supernova. My dad bought it pretty cheap on sale so I could easily get back what he paid for it or maybe even a little profit. Are there any good sites or best ways to sell it besides asking around my town? Sporting goods stores don't give you crap for trade-ins/sales so I'm not going that route. Gunbroker or free ads on Cheaper than Dirt? Thanks!

Now aren't the 14 3/8" gel pads that come on some of the factory guns unecessarily big? I like the size on my nova and those ones just look like too much pad and would get in the way...any thoughts?

What does the length of pull measure? I am thinking of getting the Comfortech gel recoil pads and don't know which one I should get. I have a nova and like the size of the standard pad if that helps. Also, for measuring the barrel, if you disassemble it do you measure from the end of the barrel all the way to the end of the pieces that lock in or just to the beginning of the actual smooth barrel? I hope that isn't too confusing...Thanks for any clarification!
