  1. Hey buddy, congrats, I have a SuperNova Tactical Steady-Grip and have formerly owned the (now-discontinued) 24" all-black, fiber-optic-sighted, Steady Grip SuperNova model , these are amazing shotguns for the price! A few things: This forum is dead... I just happened to stop by by but since 2010 when I first came here, no one has ever really answered one of my questions. Second - the forend thing is hard to say, some wobble is normal, helps to allow looser tolerances for cycling when muddy, rainy, dirty, etc. Third- NEVER buy a Benelli assuming you'll buy another barrel. Benelli barrels are more than the shotguns! Literally! I bought the 24" SN in March '10 because it was an amazing AMAZING deal from Dick's Sporting Goods. I figured I'd buy an 18.5" bbl, a ghost ring sight, and be done, a new barrel was $479!! The entire new SuperNova Tactical was $449. Benelli parts are oppressively expensive. Anyway good luck and have fun
  2. Yup thank you very much for pointing that out - I am aware of the fact that Benelli (Nova) and SuperNova models all accept the trio of standard 2 3/4" shells, 3" 'magnum' shells, and 3 1/2" 'Super Magnum' shells. That is one of the reasons I have always admired and wanted a SuperNova, and bought my first in March 2010. (I bought a all black, 'tactical/turkey'-style 24" SuperNova SteadyGrip on sale for an amazing price, but it was not what I wanted in my heart and got sold during a fund crisis... but finally lucked into the SNT I wanted last year or so )... In this particular case, I am indeed referring to straight-up 2 3/4" shells of all the same size. As I mentioned, I believe that the gun, plus Nordic +2 extension, is supposed to hold 7 shells total, I can hold 8 shells. And I tested this with basic target loads (Federal value pack 7 1/2 and 8-shot birdshots), full-power 00 Buck of 2 or 3 different brands, and basic 1" rifled slugs... all held 8. I am thinking it is one of two things , I may have trimmed the magazine spring in such a way that gives me just enough room to hold the 8th shell while not sacrificing any feeding power, OR, I have not used a hi-performance / replacement follower... I was going to order a new follower to go with the gifts of the extension and recoil pad, but the one follower I found for the SuperNovas was like $40 .. which seemed to me like highway robbery. Anyway, for now, I chalk this up to luck or one of those good kinds of problems , I get to hold 8 shells instead of 7, but I just wanted to see if there was something I was overlooking or not realizing or if anyone else had this experience.
  3. quick question, I am sorry to bother everyone with what seems like one of those good kinds of problems.. Around Father's Day last year, I bought my father a LimbSaver precision-fit recoil pad and Nordic Components +2 magazine extension for his newer-at-the-time Benelli SuperNova Tactical SteadyGrip shotgun. I installed both but hadn't had the time to test the gun out at the time. We have been doing some shooting with it and while it is an amazing, awesome gun- the thing is, it holds 8 rounds now. Full-size rounds, 00 Buck and Federal 7 1/2, 8-shot bird shots, even slugs. I thought it was a 4+1 gun, with the +2 Extension it's a 6+1 gun, 7 rounds. It is holding 8 rounds now... and working perfectly. I just want to make sure, there is no downside to this right? Am I looking at it wrong or overlooking some detail? Otherwise it's all good , right? Thanks!!
  4. Hi - I need some help- I got a LimbSaver "Precision Fit" model #10404 - specifically for the SuperNova Tactical "SteadyGrip" and M2 Tacticals (With the pistol-grip-stocks)... But I can't figure out how to install it. I got the factory rock-hard-pad off but now I am left with the contents of the LimbSaver package- the actual pad, a little plastic bracket thingy, and 2 screws. Supposedly I am supposed to wind up attaching pad to bracket and getting it onto the stock- But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this and there is NO Instructions included, nor any sort of detailed how-to or follow-steps on the Net that I can find. Can anyone help me- please and thank you very much, this is very frustrating. Thanks!!
  5. OK I could really use some help here- to make this as quick and concise as possible- I have a Benelli SuperNova Tactical SteadyGrip w/ the pistol-grip-stock. For Father's Day I got my father the Nordic +2 and a LimbSaver precision-fit recoil pad, #10404 - I am looking for some install help. Google and Youtube are virtually empty.. I did find a passage on one forum- it said to screw the LimbSaver to the plastic piece it comes with, then I screw them into the stock. I am hoping someone has a little bit more detailed info I could have, please? Thank you!
  6. Hi all- I am wondering how to install a picatinny rail on my SuperNova Tactical? It appears to be drilled and tapped with little plastic nubs installed in the drill-screw holes. But I am not able to remove them it seems? Also , is there a specific rail I want to use / or HAVE to use? I see a Mesa product on MidwayUSA which appears to be a Picatinny rail plus a side/shell holder. Is this a good bad or indifferent idea? Ok thanks much!
  7. I COULD REALLY USE SOME HELP, if there is anyone who could lend a hand or shed some light on the subject, please take 5 of your minutes to type me out a helping post... Not for me but for my Dad, no point in the Father's Day gift if I can't install it right.
  8. its definitely nice, sweet even. But for that price I'd rather have another gun than a piece of plastic...
  9. I'd be interested in purchasing your sights for use on my Benelli shotgun if you decide to replace your sights?
  10. Guys I have a brand new, never fired, Benelli Supernova , supposedly it's the most expensive model in the books without camo on it, it's a blacktical, SteadyGripped, 24" fiber optic sighted , Supernova. I got a great deal on it, but I REALLY WANTED the Tactical and I compromised. I am not very happy. I am very much looking for a Tactcial/HD/18" barrel, pref, ghost ring, ... I can buy or trade , I have the BRAND NEW 24" fiber optic sight.. it has never been fired, just cleaned and oiled ... Please let me know, because buying a new barrel from Benelli or the Web is close to $500, an ENTIRE SNT shotgun is like $330-$350! THanks
  11. I have a BRAND NEW, Unfired, never been touched other than wiped down with oil wipes, Benelli Supernova 24" , SteadyGrip stock, red fiber optic bead sighted, pump shotgun. Basically I wanted a Benelli and on St Patrick's Day I had decided I wasn't going out and I wasn't drinking. I stopped by Dick's to see the sights and there was this particular Benelli Black Boomstick. The kid working was really cool and gave me a REDONKULOUS deal with a series of markdowns, discounts, etc. The thing is I really wanted a Supernova Tactical. So if you are out there and are in the reverse position, I am looking for a new 18.5" SNT barrel with the GRS and possibly the Comfortech Stock .... If you are interested in some sort of trade plz let me know.
  12. Hi all.. I have a brand new Benelli Supernova , I wasn't really in the market for it at all, and IF I got one I was going to get the Tactical... But I also recently bought a Mossberg 930SPX, and I saw this particular Benelli and it caught my eye, I loved the feel, and I think I got a redonkulous deal from $500 down to $329.99 ... it's the Supernova SteadyGrip 24" barrel.. One of my questions is, how in the world do I mount a regular I guess called "two-point?" sling, like the kind i'd "SLING" over my shoulder or "Sling" across my back diagonal like.. The twist-cap at the end of the magazine has no loop like the other Benelli's ive seen.. there is one a little south of that, so that's ONE loop, but then no others... and the two clip-looking things on the stock, are they for slings? I can't get any of the sling clips to connect there... What gives? Also, while I'm here a few other questions? Is it true a SMALLER, 18" JUST BARREL with the GRS is really $500 when my entire setup was only $329? And anyone have any experience with mag tube extensions? I have Choate on my Mossberg but i'm told I want a "sexy" Nordic? On this Benelli? Also, I don't have the "comfortech" stock, anything recommended to help with recoill? Is a limbsaver worth it? oh and ONE OTHER THING SORRY.. .can someone provide a link for a cheap rail I can mount ? (and if you have a cheap red-dot or reflex type site, lemme at it...I'd love a cheap rail and site I can mount and still have the fiber optic bead up front visible..) THANKS MUCH --- stupid n00b here.
