Random Gadfly

I have recently received a used M1 barrel. It has been painted and I am stripping the paint. The original finish has been lightly sanded say 220 grit. What was the original finish for the barrel and what would you do for the scratches. I have capability to do sandblasting if needed. Any advice is appreciated.

I have a "new to me" M1 and the finish needs to be redone. Is the total disassembly of an M1 possible by the average person with good mechanical skills and tools, but not a gunsmith. Or is this something best left to a professional? I have the tooling to give it a cerakote finish and need the gun totally disassembled for media blasting. Any input on disassembly or finish is appreciated.

I am changing out the wood fore grip and stock on my m1 and need to buy a good synthetic stock either adjustable or non adjustable it depends on price. I don't need the fore grip as I have purchased that already. Thanks

Thanks for your reply, I read other reviews on Bell and Carlson stocks that were very similar to yours. Pity. I may be interested in yours it I can get my post count up to 15. Back to the "Just upping my post count...." thread.

I have purchased a HK m1 Benelli with wood stock and forearm. I would like to replace them with synthetic black stock and forearm. Since I am having a little trouble finding a good set made by Benelli how is the fit of the Bell and Carlson synthetic stocks? Or I am open to other suggestions.
