Beautiful, H&K...I figured there had to be a tool for the job...snap ring pliers...that's what I'll pick up tomorrow...thanks a lot!! Rob

Well, there are numerous slings available for that M4 and all of them advise you to rotate the sling attachment plate...to the left for a RH shooter and to the right for a left LH shooter with instructions to not leave the plate for attachment on the bottom...if the retainer doesn't come off, how can you rotate the plate?
