  1. Zeke, yes on the snap ring pliers!! Will make your life a lot easier.

Can't wait to see the results of your install, enjoy!! It's fun.

Make sure you get this kind of snap ring plier set:

The snap ring in the tube needs to be squeezed together to remove and reinstall, so if you get a "dual purpose" snap ring plier, you'll have more options.

I got mine at Home Depot, Vice Grip brand, not very expensive.

Done deal, I went to Home Depot on lunch today and picked up a snap ring plier very simular to your pic, but mine is made by Channel Lock. Also picked up some Acetone and heat gun and balsa wood. Im ready !! Got another 3 week wait though.

  2. I agree. The black one looks kind of shiny to me and the muted one does not. That could just be the lighting in the photo, but I think that I prefer the muted also! I read about people asking for the black coating, and it seems like Kip tries to respond when people want something, so I guess that is the reason for the other one.

Thats the same one that I ordered. Boy I cant wait to get it! You guys are killing me with your pictures ! Looks good !

  3. Awesome... thanks, I havent tried removing my stock yet since I bought it. I guess I will try an remove it before my CC Tube gets here. I am going to purchase all of the necessary items to help with the install (heatgun, snap ring pliers, ect.).

Im going to follow all of your instructions to a "T"! Thanks !

  4. It is the ARGO Caps that is what Im having a hard time removing. These just seemed to be torqued on extremely hard. I havent tried to remove them yet, I was looking for the correct size screwdriver to use, and will probably have to lock it into a vise somehow before reaming. I thought about using wd40 on them, letting them soak, before trying. I would wipe dry after removing. I havent tried this yet and I was waiting to see your replies before attempting this. Thanks for all of your response's

  5. Have used both (and others). DMW: It's cheap. Easy to install. I didn't like it. Its operation wasn't positive enough, at least for me. It's held in place by the back of the forearm. Didn't like that.

GGG: Expensive. Somewhat harder to install. I like it. Most of my B's have them now. Positive operation. Large pad, easy to manipulate. The button/pad interface is machined so it's not going to easily come undone.

There are others. I have one similar to the GGG but about half the price. Less substantial button/pad interface but no problems as yet. (TAC2, if you're interested.)

Nordic, haven't tried yet but would like to.

You say it's easy to install? I want this, but I dont know how to install one. Can you elaborate on this?

  6. Alright, whats the trick of removing the pistons?? Youtube video suggests to use the charging handle (as a tool) to remove the piston shrouds. But I cant get mine to budge. I even tried a long screw driver but I am afraid of damaging them. Have any of you guys tried this? Its looks like it needs to be smacked with a hammer. Please help !!
