Thanks for your help so far. I've been using Winchester 223 45 grain JHP. I also tried some american eagle FMJ with 55 grain.

No the gas is coming out from where the forward stock meets the magazine. (about an inch infront of where the mag is inserted) It is coming out of the lower part of this area and it causes blood blisters on my inner palm (closest to thumb) and inner top of ring finger of left hand. Im not holding the gun anywhere near the barrel and it doesnt gradually heat up it burns instanstly when fired.

I have a MR1 that I have about 300 rounds through and it occassionally will burn my palm that grips on the forward stock when I fire. Is there something I'm missing??? The nut that holds the stock on is tight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
