  1. Bought my M2 with this 21" vent rib bbl, immediately changed to rifle sight bbl. This is never fired new condition with factory label on it. Factory flush IM choke tube installed, deduct $10 for no choke if you prefer. I did change front bead to a HiVis 'Compsight' competition style, original bead included plus bonus original complete packaged kit of extra light pipes and accessories. Email me for pix, include your cel# if you prefer phone pix.
  2. I bought a Briley extended bolt release lever for my Benelli 20 ga; as some of you know these require the factory release to be machined before the extended lever can be installed. Briley will mod yours for $80 but you have to send it in and wait while your gun sits unused. I bought a spare OEM release from Brownells; could have modded the factory unit but wanted a spare plus the gun was not out of service while I worked on it. Extra $27 but worth it IMHO; can always sell it as a complete drop in assembly or swap back to the smooth factory button if desired. The tricky part was to drill the through hole straight since the factory lever does not lay flat on a base. You have to clamp it in a drill press vice and line it up manually. Once done its easy to tap 5-40 for the new screw. If I did it again I would make a jig from a block of wood with a pilot hole centered on a counterbored recess for the button OD; then you could line up the drill bit with the pilot hole with the jig clamped in the vice and drill from the back side on center. Then on to the 'flats' that need to be added on the round button; I just used mini [needle] diamond flat files to cut these in by hand. The thickness of the file was close to the .055" depth so it was easy to use the file edge as a guide. A little hand fitting and I got a snug fit with the oval cutout on the Briley button. I used some slip fit Loctite retaining compound to take up any clearance when assembled; its a nice upgrade to the factory button and easy to find yesterday with gloves on during 3 rounds of skeet. I know there are other options but this is not a tactical style gun and I liked the color options from Briley [i went with gold on the Montefeltro; matching bolt charging handle and forend cap weight.] In any case if folks are on the fence with this add on here is a DIY way to get it done without a milling machine.
  3. I have a full set of 5 factory Benelli Crio Plus chokes for 12 ga shotguns. Cylinder, IC, Mod, IM, and Full All are stainless flush style. IC was in the bbl when purchased; the other 4 tubes all have the Benelli label still on them. None of these has ever been fired. Retail is $28 ea + S&H; $90 buys all 5 delivered including a bonus free MTM choke tube case. Or pick any 3 for $60 delivered [no case.] Fits: Benelli Ultralight, Supersport, Vinci, Legacy, Montefeltro, M2, and Super Black Eagle II shotguns. Fits Benelli Field Guns threaded for Crio choke tubes manufactured after 1994. Will also fit any ported barrels threaded for Crio chokes manufactured after 2008. PM or email me at [email protected] ref here: http://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/...lli-crio-flush
  4. I have some 3" flight control but all the 2 3/4" is backordered; this will be my first load to try.
  5. Got my M2 field set up with Nordic +4 extension and factory 19 3/4" rifle sight bbl; mag comes about 1/2" from the muzzle with clamp holding it firm. Shot from the bench at 25 yards and hit same point of aim on 5 separate bullseyes at 25 yards with cheap Remington sluggers. At 50 yards I was able to keep 3 shots in a 3" group. Had to drift the rear sight over to get centered [was hitting 2" to the left] but was very happy with this bbl and slugs. Need to try some Buckshot patterns now; as for the Nordic tube I loaded 7+1 and it fed perfectly [i had 14" of spring sticking out.]
  6. No more material was removed than you would on a 1911 sear but yes - not a job for rookies as I noted in my original post. Hardest part is having a tool that fits inside the hammer hook. Nonetheless an easy and very worthwhile mod for those in-the-know. As for 'not a rifle' this sure does help with accurate slug and longer range buckshot shooting.
  7. Last night I worked on my 3 Benellis: SBE1, Montefeltro, and M2. I put in Wolff reduced power hammer springs and carefully honed the hammer hook with a fine diamond file. On all 3 guns I was able to get pull in the 4 lb range using a spring trigger scale. The geometry of the hammer makes it very difficult to work on; my small flat diamond file was the only option [~1/4" wide; ~1 mm thick.] The M2 was NIB and it was easy to see where the high spots were polished off inside the hook engagement area. Next up was the SBE; this clearly already had a beveled hammer surface from the factory [just the edge was angled down slightly.] After seeing the SBE hammer I worked a similar small angle on the Montefeltro hammer with good results. [i must say here that I have a lot of experience working on a lot of different gun actions so this is not recommended for first timers.] I also applied some graphite GunSlick lube to the engagement surfaces after reassembly. NOTE: I noticed a BIG difference in pull weight depending on location and angle of the scale arm; I tried to get average readings dead center and straight back on the trigger. The Benelli mechanism is never going to give a crisp clean break due to the trigger / sear / hammer linkages but its a shotgun not a rifle and I am very happy with the feel of these now. Should just get better with a lot of use as well ! Hope this helps some of you looking for better triggers.
  8. Done a lot of research and it sure sounds like any M1 / Super 90 bbl will fit an M2 with no modifications needed; before I buy the wrong thing are there any known exceptions to this ? I am aware that the M1 needs a forend mod to use M2 bbls but I am going the other way. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  9. I have several brand new Wolff reduced power hammer springs that fit Benelli M1, M2, Cordoba, Montefeltro, Super Black Eagle (SBE) models in either 12 or 20 ga. These are drop in replacements to reduce trigger pull. http://www.gunsprings.com/index.cfm?page=items&cID=2&mID=10 Bought a 10 pack and just selling extras to pass on savings to fellow shooters. $5 ea delivered or 5 for $20 delivered, take all 7 I have for $25 delivered and share with your friends. Will take discreet 'gift' [no fees] Paypal or check / MO
  10. Yes - the M2 field models come with 5 tubes but tactical only 3. One would think that Cyl would be the logical choice in a tac model however rifled slugs can go thru Mod chokes and the newer flight control Federal 00 buck loads are said to shoot amazingly well with M and IM chokes. Pattern your ammo with IC before you drop $$ on a cyl tube that you may not need
