Looks like I need to strip it down and clean it completely and find a good lube. I'll check and see if I still have the benelli oil. Is there a good thread showing areas that need lubrication? Or just dunk it in a bucket of oil?

I have always used remington oil on the surfaces of all my guns but use Tetra gun grease on my rails for metal on metal and polymer to metal contact. I can't remember where I heard this but in order to improve the reliability of the M4 you need to polish and lube the inside of the receiver extention tube. Is this correct? Would it help or harm the operation?

What kind of oil are you using?
