  1. Thanks for help. I was able to clamp the other end without damaging the threads. Now to heat those threads and get that spring out.
  2. Thanks, My problem is that I can not get the recoil spring plug assembly out of the stock because it came out of the receiver before the nut came off the other end that secures to the stock.
  3. I have a M1 super 90 sn M261xxx and I started to replace recoil spring. When I went to remove the stock, the recoil spring housing unscrewed from the receiver before the nut came loose from stock. I need to hold the threads of the recoil spring tube so i can remove the nut holding the stock on the assembly. What is the thread size where the tube goes into the receiver? My plan was to get two thin nuts and use them so I could keep the assembly from rotating. Open to other suggestions
