  1. In looking at the parts schematic for the M2, it does not look like there is anything in the receiver aside from the pivot pin for the carrier latch.  Sort of looks like an unburnt flake of powder stuck in the divot.

That is a left hand M2 isn't it?  That may be the hole for the carrier latch pivot pin to come out if if it is removed and a powder flake got stuck in there or some other piece of debris.  Isn't the carrier latch button on the right side of the receiver?  Try flushing it out with a spray or scrub it with a tooth brush to remove it.

  2. Got a 7 shot tube from SOCOMguy installed and in looking at an extended mag spring and I am wondering what the difference is on a 12ga spring direct from Wolff vs the special ones that FFT that they say is made by Wolff that is selling for 5x the price of a Wolff standard XP spring.  I cannot see what the big difference is for the extra money.  A mag tube spring is not really rocket science.  For the cost I think I will try the one from Wolff.  Anyone else do the same?

  3. I personally do no buy the "new anodize" process for the USMC.  Hard anodizing is a MIL-A-8625, type III, class 2,  finish which has been used on M16 receivers for many years.  This is a problem with the dye process and/or the anodizing not being as thick as necessary to dye properly, or the post dye sealing process.  They don't want to be having to redo a bunch of receivers so they make up some story.

They may have changed from type I or II to type III hard anodizing and probably have not got the process dialed in properly to produce the jet black finish.  Also if they were doing a new process for the USMC then they most likely would not be doing it for all the receivers, only the USMC contract receivers.

Someone should find out exactly what the USMC is specifying for the new finish.
